I'm Okay Now

**katys pov**
As soon as I came home from school, I ran uptairs and into the guest bedroom on the far end of the hall, where i keep all my things. my hands wondered around the small black duffle bag that contained all my clothes until i found what i was looking for. my blue, pink and black floral dress that ive been planning to wear for this day. As i can recall, Gerard planned going to the beach for our date and he did mention something about high temperaturs, so this dress would be cute to wear for the warm day ahead. as i continued looking i found a long flowy red dress that would be perfect for the beach. ugh i hate it whenever this happenes. you have two really good options but you have no idea which one to choose.
"mikey!" my mouth anomatically belted. within a matter of seconds the un natural blond was standing in the doorway of the guest bedroom.
"what els could you possibly need from me?'" he joked with a smile on his face.
"i need your help" I held up the two dresses, each in one hand and showed them to him. "i need help choosing which one to wear for tonight"
He walked over to be to get a better view, and carefully examined each one. This is why Mikey is a great friend to have. He actually puts thought into things, no matter how feminine they are.
"go with the flower one" he told me
"you sure?' i asked him. the last thing i want to do is show up on our date wering something completely out of the question.
"definatly. the flower one is more you. also it shows off your boobs."
"Mikey!" I nearly screamed at him, that would be the last thing I would expect Mikey to say.
"kat, hes a dude. guys love boobs, its their every weakness. but to make you feel better about the dress, the flowers are pretty and better for the occasion. the red one is to basic"
"Ugh" I grunted in return.
"Hey! You're lucky to find a guy who actually likes you for your personality and doesn't ask you to take off your shirt on the first date!"
"You're right" I said hesitantly "k, thanks mikes!" I told him as he walked out the door, giving me some privacy to change. I decided to take Mikey's advice, and wear the Floral dress. my self esteem issues sometimes get the best of me. I've never been the thinnest out of all of my friends, and that doesn't bother me that much. But it stops be from showing off more skin then I usually do. That's why when Alicia showed up to school with the bathing suit I was nervous. But she was right. "Katy! This is your two month annivarsity and you won't even wear a fucking bikini around the dude!? Give him some eye candy for once, goddamn."
She's right, and I kinda do feel bad for gee. He's never once asked me to do anything sexual. Sure we had sex once, but I was the one who asked. Other than that the farthest we've gone was making out. Like Mikey said, I am lucky to find a guy that actually likes me for my personality.
I put on the leather swim suit, then slipped on the floral dress on top of it, then walked over to the full body mirror located on the other side of the small bedroom. And for once I didn't hate my appearance. The dress fell right above my knees so it covered up most of my self harm scars. Also the hairstyle that I have works perfectly with all the colors. I actually feel confident. As always, a little makeup can't hurt. I carefully did my winged eyeliner and mascara until I was happy with the result.
When I checked the time, I nearly panicked. 3:01 shit. Gerard would be waiting for me downstairs. I quickly grabbed the gift bag that contained the jacket and made my way downwards to the main floor. As my eyes looked up, they immediately met with his beautiful hazel eyes that gave me butterfly's every time I made contact with them. Without hesitation I placed my lips on to his and felt the fireworks go off behind me.
"I got you something." I said, breaking the kiss and handing the gift bag to him.
"Awe Katy you really didn't have to!" He replied with a smile that almost made the sun look dull. It's those kind of things that make me fall more and more in love with him every second. I'm almost 100% positive that I can't be more In love with this man then I am now, and then he smiles and it's like I'm falling in love all over again.
"No trust me I wanted to" I assured him, returning the smile. He have me a smirk and stuck his hand into the bag to pull out the jacket. Out of nowhere his mouth dropped to the ground.
"Katy I-" was all he needed to say to nearly make me jump up and down out of excitement. "It's- I- I mean it's- it's perfect! Exactly what I was looking for!"
"I do have to give credit to Mikey. It was his idea to get you the jacket but-" I was interrupted by a pair of arms tightly wrapped around my waist. "It's no big deal! I'm just really happy that you like it!"
"Like is an understatement. Hell! Love in an understatement. Kate, this was better than any of the jackets I've ever seen. Oh my god thank you! I love you, I love it! But... I've got something for you as well."
"Gerard you don't have to-"
"Haha too late!" He laughed as he pulled out a velvet box from his back pocket and handed it to me. I gasped once the box was open.
"Gerard.." I was completely at a loss for words. The gold and silver necklace he got me was one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I have ever seen.
"I really hope that you don't think it's too much, or too soon. Katy- I really do love you, and I need you to know that."
"Oh my god Gerard!" I gasped as I threw myself into his arms. "It's absolutely stunning. I love it so much thank you." My lips found his as they connected for what seemed like the first time.
"I love you" I told him, breaking the kiss to look at him in the eye.
"I love you too"
