Vampires Will Never Hurt You
Sing Me To Sleep
January 27, 2006
“Where ya goin?” I heard him yell as I ran as fast as I could down the alleyway. “Come back, I just wanna play!”
I looked over my shoulder to see if he was catching up to me, but he was gone. I skidded to a halt, feeling slightly victorious as I tried to catch my breath. I turned back around and was met with his blood red eyes. “Hello again,” he sang. “You know, if you hadn’t run away, I would have been gentle.” In the blink of an eye he had me in a headlock as he sunk his razor sharp teeth into my neck. I screamed out and he covered my mouth with his hand, muffling my cries.
Then suddenly he was gone and I was lying on the ground. “Are you fucking insane?” an unfamiliar voice spoke. “You can’t do this anymore, Nicholas.” I heard footsteps and the one who attacked me—Nicholas, I suppose—laughing. I felt something in my mouth, some kind of body part that was oozing a warm, thick liquid. I felt it and realized it was someone’s arm, and I tried to push it away.
“Having a little trouble, Sammy?” Nicholas taunted.
“Shut your mouth and hold him down, and don’t call me that,” Sammy said. I felt hands push down on my shoulders and then Sam’s arm was back in my mouth, what I assumed was blood seeping into my mouth. I felt his lips brush against my ear and then he whispered. “Be a good boy and swallow, then we’ll let you go.”
I reluctantly swallowed the blood and then they were gone. The pain in my neck was becoming duller with each second that passed. Right before everything went black I heard a whisper in my mind.
“You are going to die here.”
“Gerard, calm down! It’s okay, I’ve got you!” Frank yells. My eyes open and I am not back in that dark, cold alley. I am in my apartment with the man I love.
I sit up and wipe the tears off my sweaty cheeks. “What… w-what happened?” I tremble.
“You were screaming and I assumed you were having a nightmare. Are you okay?” he asks, wiping the hair off my sweaty forehead and kisses me on the cheek.
“I-I’m okay,” I say, taking a deep breath. “Just…” I feel tears forming in my eyes once again. “Hold me, Frank.”
“Of course.” He wraps his arms around my shoulders and I bury my face in his neck, my arms tightly wrapped around him.
