Some like to sleep, We like to play

It's October first and I am getting nervous about the wedding. We decided to not tell anyone we're getting married and instead plan to tell people we're having a dinner party that night. We are just getting married in the back yard, nothing fancy or expensive, just us committing to each other infront of the only people that matter to us.
We meet with the marriage celebrant and fill out all the paperwork and she tells us to just be calm and things will go fine and she'll see us on the twenty seventh. After the meeting we go ring shopping and Bandit and Riley point at all the shiny jewellery telling us to get that one. We laugh at how distracted they are by shiny things and we end up picking simple white gold bands. When we leave the store we run into Ray and he asks what we're upto. "Nothing much just shopping, looking around" Gerard tells him as I slide the bag from the jewellers into my handbag. After we leave the mall we go home and Gerard goes down into the basement to write.

A week before the wedding the guys get the call and told their studio time to record their first album will be in two weeks meaning Gerard will have to go to New York again but for a month not four days. I am beyond disappointed that it is so soon after the wedding but I don't let Gerard know that.
The day before the wedding I am a nervous wreck and still upset at the thought of Gerard being gone for a month so I start cooking. I decided since we told everyone it was a dinner party I may aswell give that a try after we get married.
The morning of the wedding I set Riley and Bandit loose in the backyard as we decorate the back patio with white balloons and fairy lights and we bring the dining table from the kitchen to join to the patio table so there is enough room for everyone to sit. After we are done I give the kids a bath and dress them up nice. Then I tell them we are having a little party so they need to be on their best behaviour. "Pwomise mommy" Bandit says and I smile, kneeling on the floor and kissing her forehead. "Ok you guys can go play in the living room but we need to not make a mess." They nod their heads and run off downstairs to play. I walk into the bedroom and see Gerard just finishing up buttoning his shirt so I walk over and tie his tie for him. I stand back and smile wide at the sight of him in black dress pants, a white button up shirt and a skinny black tie. "You look so fucking hot and I hope you plan on making a second use for that tie later" I tell him and he smiles wide and pulls me in for a passionate kiss before releasing me and telling me he'll go down and supervise play time while I get ready.
I shower before sitting infront of my dressing table in the bedroom doing my hair and makeup. Just before I'm about to get into the dress I bought for today I hear the doorbell ring and loud male voices carry upstairs. I get nervous at the thought that people are here already and I look at the clock seeing that the celebrant will be here in just twenty minutes to marry us. Within the next ten minutes everyone has arrived and I am just zipping up the zip in the side of my strapless dress with shaking hands. Gerard knocks on the door before opening it and gasping, not having seen the dress yet. "Baby you look stunning" he tells me so I say "Not disappointed that I'm not in a big puffy white dress?" He shakes his head and says "That's so not you babe I wouldn't want anything other than what you have there right now." I smile and he tells me it's time. I take his hand and walk downstairs with him and the celebrant is in the living room waiting. I look at Gerard and he tells me everyone else is already outside.
When we get outside everyone looks over at us and I smile wide and squeeze Gerard's hand as I say "So we're not exactly having a dinner party. Well we are but that's not why we asked you all here. We wanted you all here today because you guys are the most special to us in the whole world and we wanted to share the most special day of our lives with you. We're getting married." The celebrant comes out of the house behind us and we walk into the yard and she starts the ceremony while everyone leaves the table to crowd around. After we exchange vows and rings we kiss and then I am Mrs Way. When we pull apart from the kiss everyone is cheering and they rush over to hug and congratulate us.
Once we all make our way back to the table my face hurts from smiling so much and although Bandit and Riley don't quite understand what just happened they are excited from all the excitement and are bouncing around loving the attention they are getting from everyone. Donna and Trick help me carry out all the food I spent the last two days cooking once it's heated and we set it all in the middle of the table. When everyone has eaten Trick stands up and makes a little speech telling everyone how proud he is of me and how happy he is for me and Gerard. Afterwards Donna and Mikey also make a little speech and the night goes on with drinking and just enjoying each other's company. I sit back and smile to myself, thinking this is the most perfect wedding day I could ever ask for.
