Just One More Bite

All I hear are the cranking wheels, and wind speeding by. As I open my eyes, I realize I rest upon a gurney, my arms securely to my side. It doesn't take much time to find out I am in a hospital. Fuck.

A male doctor, fair haired and young, approached me with a smile. "Hey there, kiddo."

Really? Yes, because a pale, blood-sucking murderous seventeen year old is known as a 'kiddo' to every adult. I roll my eyes and reply, "What's up, doc?"

"We checked your blood pressure, and we suggest it would be best you spend the night here."

"Damn, what happened?" I asked, shaken.

"You fainted in what your partner described as 'a reaction to immense color'..."

I nodded in slight understanding. Way to go, Frankie. Tell him I fainted from a color and that we're partners (*cough* we haven't determined our love yet *cough*). I sigh deeply and look up at the ceiling.

Can you feel the excitement? Me neither.

"Okay then," I answered politely. "May I speak to my...partner?"

"Of course," he replied and had sent Frank towards me. I hissed at Frank in hatred.

"Frank, we may be in the hospital, but we aren't finished," I growled.

Frank ran to the mirror as always in the restroom by my hospital room. I sighed slowly, and the mumbling had began. If only I knew why, how. This time, he had left quickly afterwards, and sat at a stool by my bed. His monochrome image and his nearby surroundings were just one meter away from me.

"Don't look at me, or you'll faint again," Frank warned.

I buried my face in the covers. Yes, I wasn't going to look at him.

"Frank," I started, innocently. "Can you sit at the side of the bed, with me?"

Frank agreed. I could feel a weight at the hospital bed, and I smiled to myself. Yes, I wasn't going to look at him. Instead, I wrapped my arms firmly around his waist. And I kissed him.

The world went black. No, wait; it didn't go black. It went white. Colors started to rearrange themselves.

Everything was different.
