Just One More Bite

Frank was right. I didn't know one thing about him, and I had dragged this poor soul back into my home, only to make him cry. I thought something bad was lagging him behind, but that bad thing was me, myself. I was the reason his eyes were watery, and why he wanted to flee the state.

"Frank..." I started to sob quietly. " I-I'm s-so sorry!"

"Get away from me, you ignorant jerk!" he screamed. "Y-you're not sorry, you just want me to forget this all h-happened!"

" I can help you, Frankie..." I whispered.

"Like hell you can!" he hissed back. "You feel bad for yourself, don't you? At least you belong to your own fucking name! I made up Frank Iero because I hate Ryan Pierce! Do you know what it's like to look in the mirror and not see yourself? DO YOU?!"

"I swear to you, I c-can change. I can h-help you, I j-just..."

"What, you're just too narcissistic to care? Huh? You don't know a thing about me, you can't help me in the slightest!"

"Frankie, I d-don't understand. I want to save you..."

"What, from my self destruction? I'm looking forward to the day I die, so I don't have to look at people like you!"

"Frank, you have something that is so rare in most people."

"What, a bad temper? I don't give two shits, Gerard! Stop being superficial for once!"

I grasped his shoulders. " You have something that separates you from every other living thing on this planet. It's unique."

"Save your words, you little fuck."

"I want you to remember this, because you are different. Never let them take...."

"Shut up!"

"...the light behind your eyes. Just remember..."

"Fuck off!"

Those famous last words were nearly silent, but had the meaning of a million words.

"You will always burn as bright."
