An Urgent Need for Ruin (Short Story)

Summary

Toni resides in superstitious but homey small-town Louisiana. A film-fest hosted by would-be directors in her high school seems like a harmless night, but you'd be surprised what one party can change.
(This is based, word-for-word, off a nightmare I had through Toni's eyes. Though not technically a fan fiction, it contained Frank and had a huge impact on me because of just how real it still feels. So I thought I'd post it for your viewing enjoyment.)

Characters

Francis "Frank" Gauthier

Francis "Frank" Gauthier

He's not a stare-at-you-across-the-cafeteria-like-I-want-to-run-you-over-with-a-bus kind of guy, but there's certainly something mysterious about Frank. He's not a talker, but when he does talk he's definitely not open. And there's definitely something grim and crucial on his mind 90% of the time.

Toni Devereaux

Toni Devereaux

A small-town girl with dark blonde hair and chesnut eyes. She'd prefer the wild to civilization any day, especially compared to a teenager-stuffed den.

@Nichole Unfiltered

Just know that a whole ton of the novel will be different from the short story.
The short story is based off my nightmare word-for-word, but the novel I made my own. Their personalities and backgrounds are way different. For example, Toni decided to make herself a mute. XP

sorry the other comment didn't have any words, I don't know why it's not working...
anyway, I just wanted to say that this was so cute and definitely made me psyched to read the full length novel version!! I can tell this story is gonna be good :)

@Stitches

Thank you! Yeah, I know not too many people will like that I have an OC, but Frank plays a HUGE part in the novel. It's basically his story just told from Toni's point-of-view, as stated in the prologue.

I normally don't like OC stories at all, but this was pretty good. So I believe this deserves a thumbs up.
