Two New Chapters, Same book.

Saturday came a lot quicker than I had expected it to. I was really nervous about telling my brother and his wife that we were expecting… again. I made Frank promise not to tell Gerard while they were at work and for the rest of the week. He really wanted to tell them but he kept his word. Although on the days that the kids and I visited him in school, he was nearly bouncing off the walls in excitement. And whenever I stopped by at my brother’s room, Gerard was also very happy for some unknown reason, every time I asked he said we would have to wait.

But when Saturday finally did arrive, I was shaking. The kids were down for their nap while I finished off cleaning the house; Frank was in the backyard cooking up some food on the grill. I nearly dropped the glass of water I held in my hand when the door bell rang, signaling it was time. I took a deep breath before answering the door.

“Mikey!” Gerard said and gave me a big hug, “Where’s the little munchkins?” He asked and glanced around behind me looking for the twins.

“Their napping,” I answered and then turned to Lynz, “Hey!” I told her as I hugged her. She looked really good, like glowing good.

“Is the food ready, I’m starving.” Lynz said.

“Just about, Frank is in the back. Let’s go out there.”

Today was a beautiful day, no wind, not too hot or too cold. Perfect day to tell your brother your pregnant, right?

Frank had the same huge smile on his face that he had been wearing ever since we found out. If I noticed it, I’m sure Gerard and Lynz had noticed it as well. We continued with our normal hang out routine as we always did, but this time before we cleared out the table, Gerard stood up from his seat, capturing everyone’s attention. He cleared his throat before he spoke.

“We have some news to share.” He started, “As of last we, my beautiful wife and out discover some life changing new.” He said looking very lovingly at his wife, “We are having a baby.” He said.

Oh. My. God.

I felt my mouth fall open and I was completely speechless. It was Frank who broke the silence.

“Congratulations.” He told both of them and hugged them both. I was still frozen in my spot when Gerard come over to me after he hugged Frank.

“Mikes… You good?” He asked.

“Yeah, congratulations!” I said as I stood up and hugged the both of them then made my way over to Frank who pulled me to his side and placed a hand where our baby would be.

“I’m glad you’re happy,” Lynz told me, “I’m gonna have a lot of questions. Like I don’t even know where to start. When did you feel them move? How long before-”

“Holy shit you’re pregnant!” Gerard yelled and pointed at me as he interrupted Lynz.

“What?” Lynz asked.

“Yes, we are. We were gonna tell you later but how did you figure it out?” Frank asked.

“Congrats.” Gee said and pulled me into a tight hug, followed by Lynz.

“Thanks but seriously how?” I asked.

“The way Frank wrapped his hand around your stomach. It’s the same way he did when you were carrying the twins; also I’ve been doing the same thing to Lynz.” He explained then wrapped his hands around her stomach.
