Two New Chapters, Same book.

I was crying tears of joy when the doctor but Frank and I’s new baby on my chest. I held him close to me as he screamed his little lungs out. One of the nurses came over to us and started to clean him up. I couldn’t take my eyes off him, but when I heard a shutter I looked up to see Frank behind a camera with tears of his own rolling down his face. He handed the camera over to Gerard and came over and kissed me then the nameless baby on my chest. I kept hearing the shutter go off so I knew Gerard was taking more and more pictures of us.

“Baby was out at 2:45 am.” One of the doctors’s said, but I couldn’t look away from my baby boy.

“Mr. Way?” One of the nurses said to get my attention; I rocked my baby trying to calm him down and looked up at the nurse, “We need to get him cleaned up now.” She told me, I didn’t want to hand him over but I knew she would be back soon with him so I handed him over.

“I’ll give you two a minute.” Gerard said put the camera down and left the room, “I’ll call mom and tell her!” He called over his shoulder as he left.

“I’m so proud of you Mikey.” Frank said as he pushed some of my hair back and kissed my sweaty forehead.

“What are we gonna name him?” I asked, I was kinda out of breath but I didn’t let it bug me.

“I was thinking Albert.” Frank said getting me a glass of water.

“I like that more as a middle name, what about Mitch Albert?” I said taking the water and drinking it.

“I love it.” He said then kissed me, “Just like I love you and our 3 kids.” He said and wiped my forehead and held my hand.

“I still can’t believe, two years ago I thought I was never gonna be able to have a baby, and now we have 3.” I smiled at him. He leaned down and kissed me again.

“I love you, and thank you.” He told me.

“I love you to.” I smiled and kissed him.

“Who’s ready to see their baby?” Gerard asked as he came in the room with Mitch.

I smiled and held my hands out for him and cradled him in my arms, Frank climbed on my bed and held the both of us. Mitch wasn’t crying or anything, he yawned a bit, telling us he was tired. I stroked his face, admiring the features of my small baby as Frank said soft words to him and cooed at him.

“Are you tired baby?” I asked my little Dom.

He yawned in response and Frank and I laughed.

“It’s almost 3 in the morning, were all tired.” I told him, “But I’ll stay awake for you.”

“My turn.” Frank said and held his arms out for our baby, I carefully handed Mitch to him and Frank started making funny faces at his newborn son.

“Mom wants to talk to you.” Gerard said and handed me his cell phone.

“Hi mom.” I said into the phone, “How are my twins?”

“There asleep, but tell me about my new grandbaby!” She demanded into the phone.

“Mitch Albert Iero-Way is great, he was born at 2:45am and he’s a healthy Dom.”

“Two new grandchildren in less than a month, I’m so proud of you, the both of you. Your father and I will come tomorrow as soon as visiting hours are open. I’m pretty sure the twins want to meet there younger brother.”

“Thanks momma, were gonna try and get some sleep now.”

“Okay, goodnight baby, I love you.”

“Love you too momma.” I smiled and hung up the phone and gave it back to Gerard.

“Let me see my new nephew before I go back home to my baby.” Gerard said taking Mitch from Frank’s arms.

Frank yawned and laid back in the bed with me and pulled me close to him.

“Good luck surviving this family you got here.” Gerard told Mitch and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. Gee put Mitch in the crib the nurses had brought for him and kissed his head before coming over to me and kissing my head and telling me how proud he is of me then wishing Frank and I goodnight.

“I love you.” I told Frank and softly kissed his lips.

“I love you to.” He said then we both fell asleep.
