Alice had her eyes almost completely opened in shock, everyone in class, including Mr. Olson were looking at her.
-Hey emo bitch, I asked you a question!- said Cassey, looking furious and dangerous.

Alice was thinking of ways to get away from this, when suddenly Mr. Olson started walking to them, "Yes!, Mr. Olson is coming to rescue me from this situation" thought Alice.

-What is happening here?, you interrupted my class, Cassey - said Mr. Olson angrily.
-It was this emo freak, sir. She told me to shut up and called my boobs fake, for no apparent reason- Cassey said with the fakest crying Alice had ever seen.
-Is that true miss...?
-Alice...Woods, sir...-said Alice with difficulty, she couldn't believe that Mr.Olson didn't know her name at this point.
-Right...- said Mr.Olson a little embarrassed - Well Miss, you will have to apologize to Cassey and behave at my class, unless you want me send you to the principal's office.

Alice was about to give up and apologize to Cassey when suddenly a voice came from beside Mr. Olson.
-Cassey started it, she and her so called "friends" were making fun of my drawings when I accidentally dropped them to the floor, Alice was just trying to defend me. - said Gerard promptly
-Of course, you had to say that, freaks stick together, am I right?- said Cassey
Everyone around her started laughing, Mr. Olson tried to calm them down, but then he also started laughing.
-That's enough- said Mr. Olson still smiling, when the laughs were fading- you two are going to the principal's office- said, while surprisingly pointing at Gerard and Alice.
-Wait, what?!- said Gerard looking angry - I told you we didn't do anything, it was this Cassey bitch and her army of assholes.
-That's enough!- said Mr. Olson getting really angry now -I will not allow any of my students to speak like that to another student.
-Well, you just did, you even laugh with them...you, shitty teacher - said Gerard daringly to Mr. Olson, causing him to open his eyes really wide and his face to start getting bright red, an ager red.
- THAT'S ENOUGH!, YOU AND ALICE, GET OUT OF MY CLASS, GO STRAIGHT TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE AND TELL HIM WHAT YOU JUST DID!- he shouted, while walking fast to the door, he widely opened it urging them to go.

Alice and Gerard threw their things to their bags as fast as they could, and then they rushed to the door, hearing on the way out all kinds of derogatory things from everyone else.
When they were finally out, Mr. Olson shut the door on their faces, and they were left standing on the silent halls. They stood there for what seemed an eternity, when finally Gerard was the first one to say something.

- I think we should go to the principal's office, and tell him about this, this was a complete abuse! - said Gerard to Alice, trying to be calm at first, but then raising his voice a little.

Alice couldn't speak, she was just staring at the door that had just closed and trying to breathe normally again, adrenaline was still rushing through her, she had forgot how that felt like, suddenly she felt more awake.

- Alice, are you okay? - said Gerard starting to worry at her silence.
- Um, yeah I guess, I'm sorry... - said Alice slowly still trying to catch her breath.
Was it really been that long since she felt something?
- That's alright...- said Gerard sweetly - thanks for standing up for me in there, that was um, really nice of you...- he said a little shy-ish.
- No problem -Alice said smiling a little, even though she was still scared, she had this satisfaction feeling that she could not ignore, she had stand up for something, she, Alice, the scared little mouse.

They finally started going to the principal's office, walking slowly through the corridors in silence, Alice felt really comfortable with Gerard's company while walking, she even felt a little brave for what was about to happen. Alice had not been in the principal's office for at least 4 years, when she used to dye her hair purple and wear a piercing on the lower lip, they would always tell her to take it away and dye her hair in "natural colors", but she used to ignore them all the time. But now she hoped her reputation as the invisible kid, will help her through this, she and Gerard had to tell the principal the truth, it was really unfair that even a teacher bullied them, she had to be brave and do the right thing.

They entered to the anteroom of the principal's where the sweet and old receptionists greeted them, and invited them to sit down and wait for the principal to finish a talk by the phone. They sat next to each other, even though all the chairs were empty. Alice thought that Gerard also took courage from her presence, this thought made her cheeks warmer. Why was she blushing so much lately?.

10 minutes passed and Gerard was sitting a little bended down, looking at his hands and playing with his thumbs. Meanwhile Alice was just looking at the clock and thinking what was she going to say, how would she talk without her voice cracking from nervousness, Suddenly the principal's office door opened and there he stand the principal. Mr. Pearson was a tall, blonde haired, almost bold guy, he was a litte over 50 years old, and was still holding the phone talking, when with one hand he invited them to come in.
-Yes, that has to be done by the end of the month, otherwise the parents committee is going kill me.- he said while inviting them to sit down on the chairs infront of his desk, with one hand again.
They obeyed and putted their bags on their lap. Alice always felt more comfortable like this.
When Mr Pearson finally hanged up he sat on his desk facing them and said.
-Okay, so...why are you guys here?- Mr. Pearson said camly.
in an acted of recently acquired bravery, Alice took a deep breath and started telling Mr. Pearson everything that happened from Gerard dropping his drawing to Mr. Olson shutting the door in front of their faces.

Mr. Pearson listened to all of this in silence, paying a lot of attention to Alice's story. Finally when she finished talking, he took a deep breath and directed his eyes to Gerard.
- What do you have to say? - he told Gerard.
-It's all true, I was there. -said Gerard firmly - I think it was not fair.
- Of course...-said Mr. Pearson sounding a little mysterious. - Let's do this I will let you go with a warning and we'll see how Mr. Olson unfolds in the future.
- With a warning, for us? - said Gerard annoyed.
- Well, Mr. Way, by any means you CANNOT speak to a teacher like that. - Said the principal. - But I can't guarantee you that we will be checking on him, that's all I can for now.
-But...-started Alice.
-But nothing Miss Woods, unfortunately I have no proof whatsoever of what you are telling me, so you'll have to wait - Said Mr. Pearson. Gerard and Alice seemed to reckon he was right, because they didn't say anything.

They had spent 1 hour at the principal's office, when they step out of the waiting room. they were again in the silent halls, when suddenly the bell rang and everyone started getting out of their classroom.
- So um Alice, I guess I'll see you around - said Gerard.
-Sure, see you around...- said Alice.
They smiled, looking directly to each others eyes for a moment, and were only distracted when the bell rang again announcing they were already late for their next class. they ran in different directions.

It was indeed a different day
