A week had passed since Alice met Gerard, everything was just as normal and boring as ever.

Alice had struggle a bit with her math classes and almost wished she had someone that would help her, but she had strict rules. She only talked to a couple of people, a good morning, some goodbyes and a couple of Hi's were all she spoked...every single day.
It had been like that for 3 years already, it wasn't that she couldn't or didn't wanted to talk more, but it was her way of protecting herself.

When she used to be herself completely, bad things happened, really bad things...she found herself in a hospital bed semi-conscious with a lot of people running around her and her mother crying beside her, it was a nightmare...it all had happened so fast. But now she had to be strong she would not try to kill herself never again, seeing her mom and some family so heartbroken was a wake up call for her.
but the things she had to sacrifice for the bullying to stop were just too much, she felt trapped in her own boring life sometimes, she had to change her once purple hair and dye it black instead, she had to go light on the eyeliner and mascara and used band shirts just once or twice a month, it was not fun, it was boring and actually really coward, but since she did that the bullying stopped...since she stopped taking her guitar to school to stop being constantly bothered by the popular guys shouting things to her on hallways and classrooms things as "poser", "go cut yourself", "weirdo", "take a fucking shower!", "kill yourself already"...

But now, 3 years after, she was pretty much invisible, her life had turned so calm, so silent...so boring and meaningless, her mother was also constantly depressed so she didn't want to talk to her. Alice had no real friends, actually she didn't have friends at all, and the rest of the family was just constantly trying to steal from each other, always criticizing each other, family reunions were a complete nightmare full of assholes and some otheres just trying not get in trouble, those didn't even talk... just like her in high school actually.

Anyways something DID happened on that week and Alice didn't want to admit it but something or someone had caught her attention...
Since that Gerard kid from the History class appeared, people were constantly looking at him, making fun of him, because Gerard was not afraid to show himself as he was, he had long jet black hair, he sometimes used red make up around his eyes, and even though he was super pale he would use an even paler foundation too sometimes, causing him to look almost as a vampire, Alice couldn't help but think he was attractive, but Alice's perception of attractiveness and people on this fucking school were really different. People were shouting horrible things to him every time he entered a classroom or walk down the hallways ("faggot", "disgusting emo", "hang yourself"), throwing papers to his face, even once Alice saw a guy pushing Gerard onto the lockers and daring him to wear black skinny jeans once again.
This made Alice really angry, she remembered all the things they did to her before, but what impressed her more was Gerard's attitude, he looked as though he didn't give a fuck, he would still wear skinny jeans and Iron Maiden shirts. At the same time she wondered where did he came from, he just appeared from thin air and nobody seemed to care where he was from, or why he was there, he was all mistery...

It was Friday again and Alice was on history class, the first class of the day. She was waiting for the teacher and playing with her cellphone trying to look invisible as always, when she heard the usual Gerard's harsh welcoming from all of the other classmates, she looked up and saw him walking to his seat in front of her, then without any of her usual over-thinking about everything and without explanation her mouth open and a rather too enthusiastic "Hi Gerard!" came out of her. Gerard then turned kind of confused and smiled to her "Hi" he responded. "Omg! what have I done!" Alice thought while she felt her cheeks getting warmer and warmer, what was that all about? Gerard and her had already chat once and sometimes they said hello to each other, but this time she had been nervous for no apparent reason.

The teacher finally arrived, the class kept going as usual but then Gerard dropped something to the floor it seemed like a couple of sketches and she got a glimpse of some of them, they were completely amazing, he had drawn comic-like characters, such as vampires, superheroes, even a very cute monkey called "the breakfast monkey", they were full of creativeness and a very personal touch, Alice was admiring them when suddenly a girl that was sitting across them noticed the drawings on the floor and start telling the people nearby, "like omg! look at his drawings he's such a freak, I bet he's also gay or something", they started pointing at them, laughing, and then out of nowhere just like before her mouth opened and a "You and your fake boobs can shut up Cassey!" everybody turned their heads at her, Alice covered her mouth with both hands in shock "What did you say you little emo freak?" said Cassey. 3 years of cautiousness had gone to waste.
