Burn Bright

I felt my eyes widen and saw Gerard’s own eyes widen when Mikey said that. I pushed myself off Gerard and ran over to my mirror to fix my hair while Gerard pulled back up his boxers and pants. When I saw he was good I ran over to my door and opened it, Mikey was still outside my door with an expressionless face. I nervously bit my lip as I moved aside so he could come in. He walked over to the bed, looked at it, then shook his head and sat on my sofa next to my bed.

“So um, what did you hear?” Gerard asked as he scratched the back of his head.

“I heard you moaning,” Mikey pointed to Gerard, “and I didn’t hear anything from you so I’m guessing you were sucking him off?”He asked and I turned my head away, “I thought so.”

“Look Mikey, you don’t understand, we-”

“I don’t understand? Gerard, she’s engaged, are you like blackmailing her or something? What is wrong with you, she’s with Andy, she chose him; you need to deal with it!” Mikey shouted at Gerard, I never heard him get so upset about something before.

“I choose Gerard.”I said, that caught Mikey’s attention and he looked at me with a shocked expression then down to my hand, where the engagement ring Andy had gotten for me still was.

“Wait, you two broke up and now your engaged to Gerard?” He asked.

“Not exactly.” Gerard said.

Mikey gave us a confused look and I took a deep breath before I explained to him the whole situation, from beginning to that very moment in time. The whole time Mikey kept a expressionless face which worried me, but when I finished Mikey looked at the two of us and promised to tell anyone until we decided to come out about it.

“I just wish you guys would have trusted me about this from the start. I mean I’m your guy’s brother. Well Gerard’s brother but I’ve known Kasey my whole life and you’re like my big sister.”

“Aww, Mikes.” I said before walking over to him and pulling him into a hug, “You’re my little brother and will always be.”

“Thanks,” He said as he hugged me back. “So when are you gonna end things with Andy?” He asked/

“Really soon, him doing this to my hand is the perfect excuse.”

“I’ll be there with you. After he did this, I don’t trust him one bit.” Gerard said.

“No Gerard, I need to do this on my own.”

“Kasey-”

“Gerard, I’ve made up my mind so deal with it.” I told him firmly.

Gerard closed his lips and looked to the ground. I felt bad about pushing him away but this was my relationship with Andy, I can’t rely on him to do everything for me, I need to learn to do things on my own. I just hope me talking with Andy goes well, after what he did to my hand, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared.

*********** A Few Days Later*************

I took a deep breath as I walked up the porch into the Biersack home. My flight had gotten me in California a couple of hours ago and I dropped off my bags at the motel I had checked into. Gerard had insisted on coming with me but I made him stay at home, Andy might expect something if he had flown out with me, plus I needed to do this on my own. When I had gotten to the door, my good hand was shaking as I rang the door bell. I patently waited a few minutes until Andy opened the door with a face full of sorrow.
