"You'll never make me leave."

"Well, maybe on Saturday?" I could literally hear him cringing while asking me that. In two days, he wants me to be in New Jersey. I don't blame him for cringing because the first time I slipped out on a flight to New Jersey (I was surprising Ray for his birthday), my parents grounded me from my pool and private jet (even though I don't use it unless it's an emergency). Yeah, that doesn't harm me in any way, really. But if I tell my parents I'm going to a music convention (technically it sort of is, in a way), then they won't "ground" me for anything bad or say no. Hopefully.

"Yeah sure, I'll have to ask though," I hear him sigh in relief, before I tell him to wait a moment to ask my parents if I could. I throw the phone onto the bed, rushing out of my room, down the staircase, and into the living room to see my parents discussing about something medical I possibly could not understand nor care about. I wait for a moment, before coughing to grab their attention. My mom notices me first and taking off her glasses as if saying that I have her attention, while my dad takes a couple seconds longer to realize I'm in the room and puts the thick book down on the coffee table.

"Yes honey? Is there anything you need?" my mom asks me, genuinely concerned as why I'm not in my room studying. My dad has a look of concern on his face as well and places his hands on his lap. I bite my lip, thinking how I'm going to ask but I realize that I could just ask them flat out.

"Could I go to New Jersey for a music convention?"

"What's the music convention called," my dad asks.

"The Kearny Music Convention," I answered back to my dad's question.

"Okay, just wondering. Plus didn't you go there last year?"

"Yeah. They really liked me at the convention so they asked me to come back again this year," I feel blood flooding my face, but think, this is all true though. The day after Ray's birthday was the Kearny Music Convention and we went cause he got invited and could bring one guest. Which happen to be me, out of all the people he knew.

"Okay, you can go but on one condition," my dad holds up a finger while my mom cheerfully says, "Go represent the family name! That's all we want from you while over there."

"Are you sure you don't want a coffee mug or key-chain?" I jokingly, say. They shake their heads at me, chuckling and ask me if I want the maid, Joanna, to pack my bags for me. "Maybe, I'll see. If I need help, I'll ask her." I smile down at them, then run up stairs and into my room, just to grab my phone of my bed. "I can go! I can go! I can go!" I scream into the phone, jumping on the bed.

"Yes!" Ray cheered along with me and says that he has to hang up since it's getting late. I jumped on my bed then falling back, letting my hair flutter onto my face as I smile up to my ceiling.

Two days later and I'm saying goodbye to my parents, holding my limited-edition Louis Vuitton handbag that I got from my parents as a gift for going to represent the family name. I climb up the steps to the private jet and right before I go inside, I turn towards my parents below, waving to them a "see you later", since I will be seeing them in a couple days. I walk inside the plane to be met by two flight attendants, one male and one female. The female chats with me as the male leads me to the seating area. I take a seat in the middle of the plane, on the luxurious black sofa. Next to it is a table filled with sliced brightly-colored fruits and water.

"Hello, Miss Monet. We're going to be serving you on this flight and we want this flight to be as comfortable as possible for you, as a request from you parents. Anything you would like right now or have any questions?"

"Thank you," I peer towards their name tags, "Ariana and Nathan. I would like you to call me Videl, not Miss Monet, since I'm only 21 and how long is this flight going to be?"

Ariana grins at me and holds a finger up, signalling to her a moment. While she goes to ask the pilot how long the flight is, Nathan walks to the back of the plane. I look through the fruits and different bottles of water, since there's nothing else to do at the moment. As I'm looking through the fruit, I realize there's a clean fork propped up against the bowl of Nutella. Now this is going to be a good flight for me.

"The flight is going to be roughly around a half an hour long," Ariana comes in, notifying me. I turn to her, nodding and say I don't need anything at the moment. She leaves the room and goes into the back of the plane to join Nathan so that I'm left alone.

I pull out my iPod and scroll through the songs, thinking none of these songs appeal me. I look around for a couple of pieces of paper and find a stack in one of the cabinets. I grab some and walk back towards my bag, fishing a pen out, and writing down some lyrics. "Love is the red, the rose on your coffin door. What's life like, bleeding on the floor," I hum, tapping my foot slightly, raising my left leg to overlap the right. "You'll never make me leave. I wear this on my sleeve. Give me a reason to believe."

I've been writing down lyrics ever since I could remember to say the truth. When I was 5, I entered a talent show and wrote a song, actually a poem, about how flowers grow when the sun is up. Weirdly, I won and that's when I realized that I wanted to be a songwriter. I never told my parents that; I told them I wanted to take music as a major but I've written songs before with music but this time is different, because I don't know why I wrote down these lyrics. I shake my head at the paper and stuff it in my purse, grabbing my classic iPod, again. I scroll through the songs, finding yet again nothing to spark my interest.

I glance out at the fruit, grip the fork, and start eating the fruit with a Nutella dipping. After my third slice of fruit, I felt lazy and laid down on the sofa. I let my eyes close and took a quick nap.

"Mis- Videl, you're in Kearny, New Jersey," I open my eyes and sit up, to meet a smiling Ariana and Nathan. I nod at them, thanking them, and reaching for my bag. I pick up my bag, walking off the plane, grabbing my phone. I walk out onto the plane runway, to have Nathan lead me to the airport and wheeling my bags for me (even though I told him I could do it myself). Once Nathan left me to fend for myself (not really, he kept asking me if I needed anything, but I kept telling him no), I went outside the airport to call up a cab. The cab drives up next to me and asks where I'm going. I give him the address and he calculates the price, just to tell me to pay up front. I look at him confused and ask why he's doing that to me.

"Well honey, you're from California and you have money up your sleeve. It doesn't hurt anybody if you pay up a little more than you should. Plus here on the east coast, we have high prices unlike L.A.," he whispers, giving me a wide Cheshire Cat grin and holds out his hand at me.

"Darling, I'm from New York and I could get you out of business if you get any closer to me," I argue, putting my hands on my hips. His mouth forms an O shape, rushes into his taxicab, and drives off into the highway at high speed. I smirk at him and start walking towards the buses. I look at the bus schedule and see if any are going into town. When I find one, I walk over to the bus stop and wait a couple of minutes to find the bus full with the phrase "first come, first serve." I think, I can't get a taxi, bus, and I sure can't walk in these heels. I only have one choice.

Ten minutes later, a car pulls up in front of me. The driver immediately rushes out of the car and hugs me. I hug Ray back and tell him to let me down. He apologizes and grabs my luggage to shove them into his trunk. I look at his car thinking of his reaction when he first got it as a gift. He goes into the driver seat and calls out at me, wondering if I'm coming or not. I nod at him, opening the passenger door, and making myself comfortable in the cozy car. The car starts driving towards the highway and I ask where we're going.

"Summit, New Jersey. That's where the practice is now."

"Now?"

"It was supposed to be at my house but Mikey got grounded and can't travel anywhere. So we're going to him."

"I'm guessing Mikey's in the band?" I question, looking at Ray for a response. He nods, looking ahead at the road. "How long's the ride?"

"Half an hour, so it won't kill you," he teases me, giving me a cheeky grin. I smile back, laughing at him in the process. He clicks a button and the top of the car comes down, making the car a convertible. I grab my camera from of my bag and start taking pictures of the atmosphere with my shades on. Ray starts laughing at me, when I start taking pictures of him with his hair flying everywhere along with mine. It feels really nice; no pressure in the air. This mini road trip is fun; I'm with my best friend, we're laughing at absolutely nothing as well as everything, and we're listening to music on blast.

p.s. Fruit with Nutella dipping is amazing! (only if the Nutella is melted though).

p.p.s. Nariana! (Nathan Sykes & Ariana Grande were so cute but they broke up!)
