Chapter 84

***Mikey’s POV***
I knocked on Brooke’s front door as she quickly came to answer it. “Thank you for coming…” She greeted, giving me a weak smile. “No problem. I really wanted to check on you to see how you were doing.” I replied softly entering her house. She closed the door behind her. “Mikey-“She began. “Yeah?” “I-I’m scared…” She whimpered. “What for?” A tear rolled down her fragile face as she continued to speak. “Nathan…when I went to visit him…He was different.” She choked out. “Different? How?” I asked wiping a tear away from her soft cheek. “Well growing up with Nathan he was always the fun-loving brother. But when I went to visit him the other day…” She was interrupted by more tears falling down her cheeks. “When I went to visit him the other day-“She continued on again. “He was not the same.” I then tried to calm her down as I rubbed her back softly and held her close to my chest. “I know. I know.” I mumbled under my breath. “No Mikey you don’t understand.” She said, pulling away from my grasp. “If it weren’t for me finding Gerard at his apartment, he would have attempted to kill him!” I gulped. “Is that what he told you when you visited him?” She nodded. “Something like that.” Brooke sniffled. “He said that once he would get checked out of the hospital, he would make Gerard regret that he ever knew him.” I froze. “But he still thinks that he has Gerard captive at his apartment.” She explained. “Does that mean my brother is safe then?” Her face was emotionless as she continued to speak. “Well not exactly-“I cut her off. “What do you mean?” I asked, nervously rubbing the back of my neck. “Well I’ve known Nathan long enough to know that he is definitely one smart kid. And once he gets out of that hospital he is going to put in all his effort to try to get Gerard back for whatever he thinks he had done. “She replied. “What does Nathan have against Gerard anyways? For what I know I don’t ever remember Gerard doing anything to Nathan.” She shrugged. “Well I don’t know why his hatred is so strong for you guys but what I do know is that we need to stop him before it’s too late.” I nodded in agreement. “Yeah…who knows what Nathan is capable of.” She brought her eyes up to face me once again. “Just make sure to keep an eye out for Gerard so he stays safe…” I mentally slapped myself as I instantly remembered how Gerard was currently at home alone. “Shit…” I muttered. “What is it?” She asked with a puzzled look. “I’m so stupid! I left him all alone at home!” I then began to panic. “I’m sorry Brooke I wish I could stay longer. But I really need to get home to Gerard.” I spoke as I kissed her goodbye and headed out the door. I then quickly hopped in my car and headed straight back over to my house.

Once I had arrived, I instantly noticed how the front door to our house was cracked open. Was somebody else in the house? Nathan maybe. Without wasting another minute, I ran straight up to the front porch and entered the house. I tried to stay as quiet as possible in case if somebody was in here. With that I tiptoed up the stairs until I saw Gerard’s bedroom door halfway open. I froze once I heard a woman’s voice. Who the hell could that be?” I quietly walked my way over to the entrance of his room when I came face to face with Lindsey. “Lindsey what are you doing here?” I asked as I noticed Gerard hunched over in her arms. She didn’t respond. Both of their faces were in complete shock. “Is anyone going to tell me what the hell is going on?” I demanded. My questions were then answered when I saw an empty bottle of alcohol lying near Gerard’s bed. My face grew red with anger. “Gerard why the fuck is this here in your bedroom?” I asked, holding up the bottle. When he looked up to face me I could see that he looked like a drunken mess. “I-I didn’t d-drink-“He stumbled over his words. “Bullshit Gerard! Do you even see yourself? You’re completely drunk!” Lindsey remained silent. “Were you here when all this happened?” I asked, motioning over to Lindsey. “N-no…I came when he was already like this.” She explained. I sighed as I looked back at my intoxicated brother. “Gerard I trusted you…you promised me you wouldn’t drink again…” I rubbed my forhead in annoyance. “M-Mikey…p-please don’t be mad at me…” Gerard whined. My face grew hot with fury. “Don’t be mad at you? Are you kidding me right now? How could you say that after you disobeyed me like that!” He then began to cry from my yelling. “I’m allowed to be mad at you Gerard. I’m always forced to be the older brother in these kinds of situations because you cant even take care of yourself!” I shouted even louder. “M-mikes please-“ I immedialtey interupted him. “Save it! I’m done with this shit! Have fun taking care of yourself cause im moving out.” I said, storming out of his room. “No, Mikey wait!” He called back after me but was then held back by Lindsey. With that I raced back over to my bedroom and pulled out a large dufflebag. I knew there was no way I could live in this house any longer so I decided to pack. I quickly pulled out several articles of clothing, my favorite books, and my horror movie collection and shoved it all in the bag. As I had finally finished packing, I left my room and began to head down the stairs. “Mikey don’t go! Im sorry!” I heard Gerard yell from the far side of his room. “Goodbye Gerard…” I said, walking back down the stairs and leaving the house. I knew exactly where I was going to go. As I pulled out my cellphone I began to dial the number. The phone then began to ring when she finally picked up. “Hello Brooke? I have some news…”
