Gerard sat alone in his dark and dusty bedroom, letting the tiniest specs of sunlight hit his face, he sighed deeply, pulled out his notepad and began to sweep his hand rapidly round the page until he found himself looking at yet another one of his many useless pieces of artwork, he often wondered why he bothered, it never got him anywhere. He'd thought about this on his way back from the studio yesterday, he'd just sat on the train and thought, staring out the window at the misty skyline.

He got up off the floor and aranged his folders, grabbed his hat and headed off out the house.
It was cold, icy even, he gathered his coat around him and headed steadily down the road, only stopping when he got to the train station, he hopped onto the carriage and sat down, he settled into his seat and flipped out is notepad again, although his hand was floating around the page he wasn't creating pictures, he was creating words, flowing from his head on to the page, it came easily for him but ran complexly onto the page. He smiled as everything began to click into place.

"Mikey! Hey, how 'you doing little brother?"
Mikey smiled timidly and replied in a bright tone. "Hi Gerard, I'm good. How's 'The Breakfast Monkey' going?" Gerard thought for a moment, this could still work out, despite his doubts, "Good i guess, hows playin' bass coming along?"
It was then Mikey's turn to think "Well..." He pulled a face, Gerard smiled in amused sympathy, "Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it! Did you audition for Pencey Prep?" He asked.
Mikey pulled another face "Ah," was all that Gerard said before they walked into the warmth of the coffee shop.
