The MCR Games

Gerard's POV
Right now, I'm in the waiting area for the practice tests. I sit on the comfortable bench and observe everyone around me. Nobody's been called in yet, so the careers are still here.
They asked me if I wanted to be an ally of theirs when they saw me use the axe. I said no. I wouldn't join them if it was my last chance to live.
Then I hear the robotic voice call for the first person. "Noah Ladudichi." It says.
"Ok guys, I'll see you in a few." he says confidently, walking into the room, letting the steel door slam loudly behind him. I can only hope that these people aren't as good as they make out to be...

Now the only other person is here is Katniss, and she's gonna be last.
I hear my name being called and walk into the test room. The gamemakers are up on a platform against the wall.
Most of them are half drunk-laughing to each other. But Winstar Lorne, the head gamemaker, seems genuinely interested.
"Gerard Way." I say walking over to the weapon shelve. "District 12."
Some of the heads look towards me when I speak, and I just hope to Hell this is a good sign.
I pick up the axe and walk over to the dummies. They're each hung by rope. It's unnerving, like they've been hung on a noose. Taking the axe, I give it a sharp hit on the leg, chopping it clean. That's how I always start, so the victim can't run away.
Then I cut off it's head in one swift motion. Instant death. Then I pull the axe out of the wall it struck into, and walk backwards, before running back and doing variations with hits and slices on each dummy.
I take a glance at the gamemakers, and the ones that were watching look pretty impressed. I guess it's not often an outline district besides 7 can handle a weapon. But I'm not done yet. Even when each dummy is neatly cut and chopped up into a massacre, I go back with more axes.
Several, just to prove my aim to a higher level.
I walk forward towards the target practice, and throw each axe in a matter of seconds, every one hitting the centre of the target. Sighing, I go back and lean on the weapon rack, looking up at the gamemakers. The ones that we're watching look impressed, but the other ones continue talking.
"Are you serious?" I say, looking over to them. They stop and look at me with surprised expressions. "Guess you're used to being kissed on the ass by all the careers."
Still silent. Making an impact? There's a first for everything. "Thanks for the attention, motherfuckers." I say, rolling my eyes and walking out the opposite door.
Mikey's there waiting for me as I come out.
"How'd it go?" he says nervously, clasping his hands together.
"...alright..." I say, looking at the floor.
"Shxt, Gerard, what did you do?" he puts his palms against his face.
"No, all of the weapon stuff went fine."
"Then what was it?"
"I may have...said some things..."
"This is NOT getting people to like you, Gee."
"I know, I know." we walk over the platform joint into the apartment part of the building. "But I'm pretty sure they wouldnt've noticed me otherwise."
"It's not about getting them to notice you, it's about making a good impression on the few that do watch. Trust me, the other people have hardly any judgment in the actual rating process." I sigh.
"And you didn't tell me?"
"I thought it was obvious."
"How many years have you been a mentor?"
"...Not many."
"Exactly." We reach the doorway and Mikey presses his hand print against the lock plate, causing the door to open automatically. We walk in. "Where's Effie?" I ask.
"She's waiting for Katniss at the training tests." Ahh. I nod walking over to the chair in the dining room, taking the blue leather jacket I left on it and putting it on.
"So what do we do now? What's the schedule?" I ask.
"Well, today you've just done the training tests, and tonight you're gonna hear your scores on TV. After that you'll have a few more training days, and then there will be the interviews. Caesar Flickerman will ask you some questions, you can pull out your charm and get your sponsors and all of that. And then the day after...that's when everything you thought you'd never have to do comes into play."
I don't even wanna think about it. I guess all I can do is wait...

And I've waited. The longest 5 hours of my life. But now everybody's sat near the television. Im watching and waiting to hear what they thought of me. And according to Mikey, the doom from what I said. I regret it a sliver...who am I kidding? It was fxcking awesome. Their faces looked so confused I had to use all of my might not to burst out laughing. But then I cam hear Winstar Lorne's voice echo from the speakers, and all of my attention turns there.
Unfortunately, district 12 is always announced last. So the suspense thickens, and, as advised, I listen in on other key tributes.
"District 1-Noah-9
District 1-Olive-10
District 2-Alex-10
District 2-Maria-9"
Worryingly well...
"District 4-Frank-10
District 4-Hayley-8"
Alright, the careers have pretty high scores. Now for the key outlines.
"District 3-Tre-8"
Alright...
"District 6-Auburn-6"
Ironic.
"District 7-Ray-7"
Curious...very curious.
"District 10-Jack-9
District 10-Amy-7
District 11-Billie-10
District 11-Rosie-9"
9? Hm, surprising... And now the final moment.
"District 12-Gerard-10"
YES. "Well done, Gerard." say Effie, smiling at me. Mikey's jaw drops. Neither of us were expecting that. "How?" I ask him. Only one word, and that's all I need.
"They must've liked your ego." he says. And now for the last score of tonight.
"District 12-Katniss-11."
Of fxcking course. Fellow tribute had to get a score higher by one point. One. All I can do now is wait for her condescending tone.
"Congratulations." I say, standing up and heading back to my room. What could she could have possibly done to get an 11?
Once I get to my room I walk in and turn to wallpaper setting on to forest, standing up and looking at the closest resemblance I can find to where I once was, and most likely will never return...
