Coffee Beans

Bronze Studs

**April's POV**
Oh come on, you totally want to get in my pants. I kinda knew since he agreed to talk to me so I could escape Boss man. Did the uncalled pats and squeezes turn him on or something? Does he see me as 'easy'? I'm not fucking easy, I'm tough. The only reason why Boss man hasn't gotten in my pants is because I tell him no. If he forced himself into me, it would be rape.

Thoughts through my head, I dropped Gerard's wallet in the hallway and made my way to my bedroom. I took a sip from his coffee that was sitting on the bedside table and continued to my dresser. Today was Saturday, I didn't work on weekends. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans and a flannel that was a pretty dark blue with studs on the shoulders and back. From the dish that sat on top of my dresser, I found a combination of long necklaces. My belt was the usual leather one that weaved through a chain. For the finishing touch, I put on a lip ring for the first time in months. My piercing was preserved by a transparent stud that I usually slept in. Without a mirror, I fumbled around the bottom lip of my lip, finally getting one end of the ring in. It was thin and black, but had a tiny diamond charm that hung freely.

Gerard walked in. He had his jeans on, but his flannel wasn't buttoned. He stood in the doorway as I fiddled with my lip ring. I put my weight on one leg, crossed one arm and used the other to fiddle with my lip. He stood there, leaning against the door, hair pushed off of his face.
"What?" I said, not breaking eye contact
"Where are you headed?" He smirked
"I thought I could go check out the comic book store." I said standing straight and grabbing my purse that was sitting on the lounge chair in the corner of the room.
Gerard began buttoning up his flannel as if defeated. We were both wearing flannel? Ugh, whatever. He'd be wearing his leather jacket anyway. I met him in the doorway. He wrapped one arm around my waist and we continued out the door. It was a colder day. The sun wasn't shining and everything was in a heavy blanket of grey clouds. The wind wasn't blowing bad, but just enough to make Gerard's hair fall back into his eyes and mine to fall to one side.

Why was his arm around me? I guess he was just thankful that I took care of him.

**Gerard's POV**
I still had a headache, but April was enough to take my mind off of the pain. I couldn't believe she would so this for me. I was expecting to be kicked out at closing time and have to drag my sorry ass back to my mattress. But she let me stay the night in a middle class house that also happened to be her parents'. Wait, where did she usually live?
"Hey April?" I asked
"Yeah?" She said looking ahead
"Where do you live when you're not house-sitting for your parents?"
April sighed, "Abandoned flat in that old apartment block a short walk from the diner." She didn't seem to proud about where she lived.
"Wait... Victoria Block? That's where I'm living!" Shit, she was the chick that Mikey said moved out. "I assume you know Mikey Way?"
"Yeah, he's my landlord. Why?"
"He's my brother!" I smiled
"Gerard Way..." She smiled, "so that's your last name."
Did I seriously not tell her my last name? Well, I didn't know her last name either. April was pretty enough, I was afraid a last name might take away the magic.

We turned the corner and down the road to the tiny shop on the corner. I reached into my pocket for my keys and unlocked the door, a little bell ringing as I opened the door and turned on the lights. The shop smelled like it always did. Coffee, old pages, new pages, and wood stain.
"Well, here it is!" I awkwardly smiled and held out my hands as if directing a circus.
She pushed past me, "This is where you get to spend your day, huh?" She smiled and walked around the table that held the most expensive Avengers comics in the store. She then ran her finger tips along one of the shelves that held the mystery comics I knew too well. She raised her eyebrows, "Oh! I forgot something." She raised into her purse and pulled out a folder that had something thick in it. I opened it up and pulled out my comic. Still in its original condition.
"Oh yeah, thanks." Shit, did she read it already? Why did I give it to her? Fuck Gee, what the fuck were you thinking!? Oh God, did she like it? All of that word vomit?
"You're very talented, Gerard." She smiled.
I looked down and back up at her, "Thanks. I love doing it." I panicked
"You should get that published, I think the whole country will love it as much as I did." She was still smiling.
"Yeah, but I don't have enough money for New York, plus the entry fee to actually see someone to take a look at it is ridiculous. I don't have that kind of money."
"Then what do you have?" She asked, concerned.
I knew what I had. I threw the comic behind me, onto the counter, and made my move. I held tight onto her waist, lifted her a bit so she could reach my lips.
She tasted like vanilla and raw skin. She wasn't even trying to fight, great! I didn't go fucking something up this time. She had her hands on the opposite side of my elbows, gripping the soft leather of my jacket.

What the hell do I do now?
