2 weeks later.

The past two weeks were filled with me relaxing. My shoulder has finally healed and I should be able to get to work again. I've been having the same nightmare lately. Only they haven't been so bad. Party is worried about me, but I shrug it off.

Today I was going to check out an old abandoned gas station with Kobra. We are now driving on our way to the gas station. I had my mask and red lipstick on. I was getting pumped up for the first adventure in ages. Kobra kept grinning at me, he was pretty pumped as well. He had to stay home and make sure I didn't leave while the others went out to save people in battery city. I asked him this morning if he wanted to go and get supplies from this abandoned gas station, and he basically threw me in the car.

We were nearing our destination. I grasped my gun and waited for him to park. He stopped the car and pulled out his gun. We ran to the doors of the station and opened them slowly and silently. I noticed something bright and yellow bobbing in one of the isles, then I realized that it was hair. I ducked down and Kobra got in front of me. We moved quietly to the isle it was from. I heard a humming sound come from the isle, it must be a girl. I dived out and pointed my gun at the girl.

"Agh! Oh Shit! Fuck don't scare a wom- Madeline?" I furrowed my eyebrows at the girl with yellow hair. She had a nose piercing and hazel eyes. I took a further look at her and saw the face of an old friend. "Holy shit, Sam? Samantha is that you?" I shouted. I stood up and ran towards her. She opened her arms and I jumped into them. "It's been way too long girl! How have you been!" She squealed. "Fun! Where have you been! I thought you were turned into ashes!" I smiled and she smiled back. "Ashes to ashes. You know, I've been around. I wasn't in the fires. I ran away before the fires started" She gave me another hug.

"Who is this?" Sam pointed to an awkward Kobra. "Kobra kid meet..." I left it open for Sam to say her name. "Sunlight death" she smiled and threw her hand out for him. He shaked it and smiled. "Hello" He said and put his gun back into it's holster. "Nice name" I bumped hips with her. "I got it from that comic we made for school" She said and grinned. "Oh my- I remember that! Bubble gum berry girl and Sunlight death girl" I gushed. She laughed and shook her head. "Do you have a group?" Kobra asked. Sam coughed and looked at the ground, "They got dusted on Route Guano a week ago" she sighed. I looked at Kobra for confirmation on asking her to be with us. He nodded his head. "Well, I have some good news, and bad" I sighed.

"What's the good news?" She mumbled. "Your staying with us!" I shouted. She jumped around in excitement. "Wait... what's the bad news?" She stopped jumping. I grabbed her in a head lock and rubbed my fist against her skull. "You're my bitch" I shouted and she kept on slapping me away. I let her go and laughed. She pouted and crossed her arms. "No fair. Who's my bitch then?" I shrugged and then pointed at Kobra.

Kobra looked really uncomfortable. "I'm going to get some... supplies" He rubbed his neck and walked over to another isle. I looked over at Sam and high fived her. We grabbed all the candy there, we got bottles of water and dry/ canned food. I found a magazine that had 'A day to remember' on the cover, I snatched it and walked out the store. The coast was clear so we threw everything in the boot and got in the car. I called shot gun while Sunlight sat in the back, Kobra was driving.

It was silent until Sam hummed a song I knew all too well. I hummed it a long with her and Kobra gave us weird looks. I slipped my hand out for her to hold, she grabbed it and when it got to the bit we both loved we sang it together.

"This is not what it is only baby scars, I need your love like a boy needs his mothers side"

I laughed and she did as well. "Nice gloves man" she complimented me. "I got another pair at home if you want them" I said and she nodded her head furiously. "I'd be honored" she bowed her head. The diner came into view and Kobra parked in the little garage/ shed.
We jumped out of the car and grabbed the supplies we got today. We threw them on the bench and sat on the couch. Sam rested her head on my lap. Ghoul jogged up the stairs and entered the room. "Hey Midnight.. Who is this?" He turned his attention to Sam. She stood up and walked over to him. I laughed as she swayed her hips, she lightly touched Ghoul's chest and he coughed nervously. She leaned into his ear and whispered something.

I laughed at how Ghoul was stuttering and blushing. She finally kissed him on the cheek and walked back to me while laughing. I gave her a high five. Ghoul blushed madly and got himself a cigarette. "Fucking hell. Girls..." He was shaking his head and walked to his room. Party and Jet finally surfaced and met Sunlight.

I let her have my room, I moved into Party's room. I went into his bedroom and saw him already asleep. I smiled and took my jeans off, I was way too lazy to care about getting changed properly. I slipped into the covers and snuggled into Party, he instinctively wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him. I drifted to sleep with a smile on my face.

I felt someone grab my butt. I groaned. "Come on baby, it's time to get up" The person purred. I felt someone chuckle. I opened my eyes and saw a smiling Sam. "What the fuck..." I looked around and saw ghoul trying not to laugh. He laughed at my confused face. "Hey baby, let's get it oooon..." She sung. "What are you doing, loser" I said and rubbed my eyes.

"I'm your boyfriend, give me a smoochie" She teased and got up. I slowly sat up, put my jeans on and punched her in the arm. "Ow!" she gasped. "That's what you get for being a bitch" I poked my tongue at her and ran out of the room. I heard her running behind me so I sprinted up the stairs. I tripped over the top step and she dived on top of me. She started to tickle my sides. I squealed and flailed around. "Stop!! Stop!" I squirmed around. "Not until you say that I am the best person in the world and that you love me" she laughed.

"Okay! Fine! You're the best person in the world and I love you" She let me go and I dusted myself off. "Just kidding" I snickered and ran to the kitchen. I looked behind me and ran into someone. "Woah, hey" Party helped me up. I ran behind him and hid from Sam. She groaned. "No fair" She gave up and pouted. "Victory is sweet" I rubbed it in her face. "You may win this time, but next time... Next time my friend. We will have a real champion" She said in a posh accent. "Whatever Bitch" I rolled my eyes.

"Jerk" She muttered and crossed her arms.

The guys left us to hang out for the day.
"Do you wanna mess with Battery city?" I asked her, She nodded and got ready. I put my mask on and lipstick. I grabbed my ray gun and keys. We jumped on the motorbike and she put the helmet on. She held onto me tightly as we drove to the ugly city. "I'm so not into this motor thing" She yelled over the wind. "You'll get used to it, just relax" I told her while smiling. I missed my baby, to be able to ride her right now is amazing.

"So what are we going to do?" She pushed her yellow hair away from her face. "Just cause trouble, catch some attention from some Drac's, the usual" I sped up when I saw the gray buildings of Battery city. "So, uh. You and Party... what's going on there?" you could basically hear the smile on her lips. "Nothing really, I'm just sharing a bed with him. It doesn't mean anything, just trying to give you somewhere to sleep" I shrugged and continued driving.

"Yeah, by cuddling up with him. Come on, I know when something's up. I've been your friend since birth. Well from birth to eleven and now... But that isn't the point. The point is, you like him. He likes you-" I screeched on the breaks. She was lucky that she was holding onto me or she would be flying to the city. "Excuse me?" I asked turning around. "I said, He likes you. Gosh, it's so obvious. I mean, hasn't anyone told you before?" She frowned. "Yeah... his brother. I didn't take it seriously though. I mean I thought he was just sleep talking..." I looked away and blushed a little. "Is Madeline Jasmine Marie Lewis! Are you blushing?" She gasped and tried to look at my face. "No" I huffed and revved the engine. "Wow, you like him... you actually freaking like him-" I sped up just a bit and she fell off the back. "Jesus, I told you to hang on tight" I smirked at her and she flipped me off.

She was flat on her back with her legs in the air. "Bitch..." She muttered. "What was that? You want to walk there? Alright" I laughed and drove off without her. "HEY! WAIT!" She came running for me. I did a sharp turn and waited for her to hop on. She slapped me across the head and jumped on. "This time. Hold on" I chuckled. "Fuck. You." She grunted.

"Love you" I drove the rest of the way to the entrance and went inside. As we drove through the main rode, Sam was shouting out to the people.
"Hey guys, good seeing you again. Hey, Jill, right? Yeah! Loved your appearance in 'I'm a normal human'. I know you lied" She winked at a random lady and she just stared through us. I laughed at how silly Sam was. I went to turn into a street and heard a loud alarm go off.

"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!" I sped off to the gap in the wall that I always use to find it blocked off. "Fuck me sideways!" I shouted. I got off my bike and slipped my hand into my holster, firmly gripping my ray gun. Sam got off the bike and held her ray gun out. We waited and saw an army of Drac's. "Shit" she mumbled. Bad time to visit I guess. I held my gun out and shot down as many as I could. Sam took one side and I had the other. We cleared the army and high fived. Well that wasn't so bad.

Oh god, I was never so wrong in my life. That was just the calm before the shit storm. Around the corner came millions. I froze and cleared a line before shaking my head. There were way too many. I faced Sam and she gave me a hug. "It was good seeing you Maddie" She tightened the hug. "You too Sammy. I love you, I want you to know that" My eyes began to water. "I love you too" She sobbed. I bit my lip and waited for my death. Unless death feels like being picked up and shoved into a small van, then I guess I'll sign up for that. One second we were about to die and then we were in a van. Two guys with cat masks were holding us as they closed the sliding door.

"Get your god damn sweaty hands off of me you animal" Sam shouted. "Just saved your life sweet heart. You should learn some manners" The guy growled. "Who are you?" I demanded. "Anonymous Kitty 1" Said one of the guys. "Anonymous Kitty 2" said the one that Sam shouted at.

Silence filled the van until the two guys ran out of the sliding door and closed it behind them. "Cheers Snow" They both said. I frowned at Sam and she straightened up. The van finally stopped driving and the sliding door opened. A person wearing a blue hood beckoned us to come out, Sam gave me a weary look before obeying the stranger. I followed after them and checked my surroundings. The van was parked behind a modern looking house. We walked up the steps to the front door and then the stranger let us inside. They looked outside before locking the door.

"Isn't this where you reveal yourself and murder us? Jeez, what's with the hood?" Sam chuckled. I glared at her and nudged her. The stranger took the hood off and looked at us intently. It was a girl, she had white hair and blue eyes. I looked closer and realized who she was. "The name is Snow White, or Katherine Harris" She smirked and waited for our reaction. My jaw dropped and I was confused. Sam wrapped her arms around Katherine while I stood back. She looked at me and held her arms out. I walked into her embrace and a tear ran down my face.

"Kathy, I-I" I couldn't finish my sentence. I thought I lost her in the fires. I saw her run into the flames. I swear she was gone. "I'm okay" She kissed my cheek and held onto my hands. I nodded my head and a smile slowly graced my face. "Give me another hug girl!" I wrapped my arms around her neck and she giggled. I let her go and she showed us to the living room. "So you live here?" Sam asked. "Yeah. I work here too. I'm a secretary, for uh- for... I want you guys to be sitting down when I tell you this" She pointed to the couch and we dived on it. Kathy giggled and stood away from us, still facing us but keeping her distance.

"Before you say anything, I just want to tell you that this wasn't my choice. I was given a job.. a mission. I took the chance and went with it" she looked down before continuing. "I'm a secretary for Korse..." she whispered. I froze, my smile left my face. Samantha got up and put her hand on Katherine's shoulder. "It's okay, we get it. You had a mission" She smiled. I sat there in silence. She is working for Korse. Can I even trust her right now? Is Korse coming as we speak? I glared at her and stood up. "How can we trust you? How do we know Korse isn't coming for us right now?" I pointed my finger at her.

"Maddie, listen. I'm not a traitor. I work for the killjoys. I hate Korse just as much as you. It sucks having to put up with his shit each day. Maddie, I know where your brother is..." She whispered the final sentence to me. I relaxed my tense muscles and felt my face soften. "You do? W-Where is he?" I pleaded. "That's what I wanted to talk to you about" She smiled and held her hand out. I grabbed it and smiled back. Just then, we heard the roar of engines drive past the house. "You guys should probably stay the night" Katherine whispered. We nodded and relaxed on the couch.

"Well, you're famous now" Kathy said, holding her phone up to us. We looked at it and saw our faces with an exterminate 'X' on it. "Can I get this printed out" Samantha smirked and pointed at the screen. I laughed and patted her on the back.

We spent the rest on the evening catching up until there was a knock on the door. We all looked at each other nervously. "Go into the room at the end of the hall to the right, there will be a closet, behind the white dresses there is a door. Hide in there" Katherine ordered. We ran to her room and hid in the little room that was hidden in her closet. We sat in silence, in the dark for a good 5 minutes until we heard footsteps coming towards the door. We got out guns ready and waited. The door slowly opened and we nodded. We raised the guns and pointed at.. at a girl? We lowered our guns and exhaled.

"Hey girls. Remember that time I pushed you off the playground? You both got pissed off and nearly killed me" The girl smirked. I furrowed my eyebrows. Samantha slapped my shoulder, I winced and stared daggers into her face. "It's Jess. Jessica Riley. Remember!" She exclaimed. "Jessica Riley" I mumbled. Then realization slapped me in the face. Jessica Fucking Riley, she was my childhood friend. We got separated by her moving to a different town.

I got up and hugged her. Their is way too many hugs being given out today. I smiled and patted her on the back. "It's good seeing you again, been a while, huh?" I beamed. She nodded and hugged Samantha. "Well It's been a big day today. Jeez, it's like a family reunion" I said while walking back to Katherine.

We caught up with Jess and talked about the Killjoys and Korse. Then it got to the serious shit. "Maddie, your brother... He is working just a block away from us.. right now" She said checking her watch. I nodded and felt butterflies in my stomach. He is so close to me. "Tomorrow is the day where everyone takes a day off work. I know where he lives. I'll go into the office and act casual while you guys take him to Zone 6. I'll meet you after my shift and we can all hide" She pursed her lips. I nodded in agreement and looked at Jess and Sam. They nodded and agreed to help.

Samantha was going to wait for Katherine to get off work and then drive her to zone 6 in Kathy's car, while I take my brother and Jess in the van to zone 6. We discussed the plan further and put in back up plans as well. It was getting late and Jess yawned.

"I need to get some rest. You guys coming?" She said and got up. We nodded and Katherine showed us where we would crash for the night. I sighed and got into the extremely comfortable bed. I watched the lights of the city dance on the ceiling and closed my eyes. I thought about what Samantha said today. I think I like Party. I mean he is everything a girl would want, right?

Tomorrow is going to be a big day.
