Chapter five
"Lazy lover, Find a place for me again. You felt it once before, I know you did, I could see it."
My iPod finally works! I sang along to the music while heating some noodles up.
"Whiskey Princess, Drink me under, pull me in. You had me at come over boy, I need a friend I understand."
Jet came into the kitchen and smiled at me. I smiled back and stirred the pot filled with boiling water and packet noodles and continued to sing.
"Backseat serenade. Dizzy hurricane. Oh god, I'm sick of sleeping alone. You're salty like a summer day. Kiss the sweat away. To your radio. Backseat serenade. Little hand grenade. Oh god, I'm sick of sleeping alone. You're salty like a summer day. Kiss the pain away. To your radio"
"You take me over. I throw you up against the wall. We've seen it all before.But this one's different, It's deliberate"
I saw Ghoul dancing with Kobra. I couldn't help but laugh. They stopped dancing and looked at me with exaggerated angry faces. "Continue the song, tiny songstress" Ghoul said with weird hand movements.
"You send me reeling. Calling out to you for more. The value of this moment lives in metaphor. Yeah, through it all"
I started to dance with Jet and he danced back.

I sung my heart out and Kobra spun Ghoul around and threw him into the wall while making a pose. Ghoul slammed into the wall and fell to the ground. He groaned and rubbed his head. Kobra still made his fabulous pose. "Ass" Ghoul muttered. Kobra stood up straight and bowed to me. I clapped and laughed.
"Where did you get the iPod from?" Jet grabbed it and looked through my music list. His face was lit up and he looked at me with wide eyes. "You have the most amazing music taste!" He grinned. "Thanks! I got it from my mum on my eleventh birthday" I said and tapped the contents of chicken powder in the pot. Jet played another All time low song on and he smiled. "Oh gosh, I have missed this music way too much" He sighed and closed his eyes while leaning against the bench. "You know what, If I find another iPod somewhere I'll give it to you, Deal?" I asked. He nodded his head. "You can borrow mine whenever you want. Actually you can have it tonight" I said casually and his eyes widened. He picked me up and hugged me.
"Thank you!" He said. I patted him on the back and then served the noodles. "Dinner time!" I shouted to Kobra and Ghoul. They ran to the bench while shoving each other out of the way. Party must still be in his room. Jet grabbed a plate and sat next to Kobra. "I'll just go give this to Party. Help yourselves, there's more in the pot" I added and grabbed two plates. I walked down the stairs and put one of the plates on my arm as I opened his bedroom door. I grabbed the plate that was balancing on my arm and walked inside. I placed both plates on his desk and looked over to his bed. He was laying on top of the covers and was sleeping. I smiled and walked to him. I kneeled beside his bed and looked at his sleeping face. He looked so peaceful and innocent.
I grabbed his arm and shaked it gently. He stirred and then opened his eyes. I moved his hair away from his face and smiled warmly at him. "Dinner's ready" I said in sooth voice. He rubbed his eyes and I stood up. He sat up straight and stretched, "Do you want to eat here or in one of the booths?" I asked him quietly. "I'll eat here" He yawned. I grabbed the bowl of noodles on his desk and handed it to him. "Here you go" I passed him a fork and he smiled thankfully at me. I grabbed my bowl and was just about to walk out when Party stopped me. "Hey, uh- can you stay?" He asked in his sleepy voice. I smiled and turned around.
"Alright" I sat in the chair that was near his desk and ate quietly. It was good to have a hot meal. "Who cooked" He asked, sleep still attacking him. "I did" He slurped a noodle into his mouth and laughed. "I haven't had noodles in ages" He exclaimed. I nodded in agreement and then there was silence. I looked to Party and saw that he was already looking at me. He looked away and I laughed. When we were finished I grabbed both of our plates, "I'll be right back okay?" I said and he nodded.
I went into the kitchen and saw Kobra grabbing seconds and Jet trying to take the spoon from him. I laughed, "I was gone for like 10 minutes and you guys are fighting over the food". Ghoul shrugged and continued eating the chicken noodles. I placed the plates on the bench and walked back to Party's room. I saw that he was lying on top of the covers and his eyes were slightly closed. I walked to his bed and pulled the covers out from under him gently and put them on top of him. I tucked him into the bed and heard him sigh in happiness. I giggled lightly and kneeled beside the bed again. His eyes were closed, I placed a kiss on his cheek. "Sweet dreams" I whispered into his ear.
I got up quietly and walked out while closing the door behind me. I paused and took a deep breath, my heart was fluttering wildly in my chest. I went to the bathroom and had a quick shower. Do I like Party? My heart was beating wildly again, maybe? I felt myself blush at the thought of having feelings for him. I groaned and put my face directly in the water. Once I was finished I got dressed and went to my room.
I finally grabbed the already used cigarette that I didn't finish from my jacket. I lit it and blew out the smoke. I walked back into the Diner and saw ghoul with his head resting next to the bowl of noodles, he must have drifted off to sleep. Kobra was sleeping on the bouncy couch with his mouth open. Jet was curled up on one of the arm chairs.
I went to Jet first and gently woke him up. "Come on, up to bed Buddie" I grabbed his arm and helped him up. He leaned on me, still sleepy, as I lead him to his bed. I tucked him in and kissed his forehead. I woke up Ghoul and basically carried him to his bed. He kept on mumbling to me, "Carry me, carry me like the queen that I am" He mumbled. I tucked him in and kissed him on the forehead as well. When I gently woke up kobra he wiped his drool and blinked rapidly. I clutched onto his arm and helped him get into bed. When I tucked him in he held onto my arm. "Party likes you, he likes you a lot. I just want you to know that" He had his eyes closed and was mumbling that too me. "I know" I whispered and kissed his forehead. "Good night Madeline" He whispered and then a light snore came from him. I smiled a warm smile and gently closed his door.
I got into my own bed and looked up at the ceiling. Right now, in this moment, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I feel like I have a family again. I thought about my brother. I wonder what he is doing and where he is. I sighed and closed my eyes, letting sleep take me in.

I woke up to the same dream as last night. Still covered in sweat I got up and wiped my face. I threw my jeans on and went to the kitchen, I turned the coffee machine on and rubbed my face. I got a cup from the cupboard. 'Ding' I poured myself a cup and blew into it. I turned around and almost dropped my cup. I ducked under the bench. A Drac was near the front door. I looked up slowly and my Ray gun caught my attention.
All I needed to do was slide across the bench and shoot the stupid Drac. I placed the cup gently on the ground and slid across the bench. I swiped my Ray gun and waited for the stupid thing to come inside. It didn't see nor hear my epic move. I rolled my eyes and huffed. I opened the door and shot the Drac right in the head. I smiled and then frowned. There were 10 others outside. Why are they here? I shot at least 5 before 5 guns were pointed at me.
I held my ray gun at the closest one and shot it. I hid behind the door and saw beams of light come through the door. I heard Jet run up the stairs, "What the hell is going on?" He held his Ray gun close to him as he jogged to me. "Dracs" I pointed my gun outside and shot one that was standing out. I brought my arm back in. Ray opened a window and shot two that were hiding behind a car. There was only two left. I nodded at him and we shot both of them. I smiled once more until my frown came back. One was getting away. Oh hell no.
I jumped on my motorbike and didn't care that it was inside. I turned the key in the ignition and went as fast as the motorbike could. I got closer to the van. I continued racing up towards the van and got to the drivers side. I looked at the driver and shot him in the head, "Sayonara motherfucker" The car spun around and I drove out of the way of it. I sighed in relief and drove back to Jet. I gave him a grin and slowed down.
Jet grinned back and then shouted. "Look out!" He said. I turned around and saw a Drac shoot at me. I watched as the beam came towards me. I didn't have enough time to get out of the way. I took it to shoulder, I fell back. I gripped my shoulder and cried out. Jet shot the Drac before lifting me up. He carried me to my room and put me on my bed. I grunted and held my shoulder. "I'll get Ghoul" He nervously smiled and slammed Ghoul's door open. "Frank get up. It's an emergency, hurry the fuck up!" He shouted. Frank? I cried out and whimpered.
I heard Ghoul groan and get up from the bed. Jet came running into my room again a grumpy ghoul following behind him. "What's th- holy shit" Ghoul snapped his eyes to my shoulder. He ran back to his room and came back with a box.
He gently took my hand away and his eyes widened. "What happened?" He asked me calmly. I bit my lip and whimpered a bit. "I got shot by a Draculoid" I said and grunted when he pulled the strap of my shirt and bra down. He opened the box and got a bottle of clear liquid. "This is going to burn like hell. You better bite onto something" Ghouls voice was shaking as he twisted the cap off the bottle. Jet folded a leather belt and gave it to me. I bit down on the leather and watched as Ghoul poured the liquid into the burn.
I let out a blood boiling scream and bit hard into the belt. I heard a sizzling sound and felt my shoulder burn. I felt the tears roll down the sides of my face and I took deep breathes. Jet was holding my hand while ghoul went looking through the box. I could hear a scuffle in the hallway and saw Kobra and Party standing at the door. I kept my head facing up but looked at them. I grunted and closed my eyes tightly as the burning sensation left. "Right now, I'm going to have to sew your wound back together. It doesn't look like it got you too bad. You're lucky it didn't take your arm off" Ghoul said while holding a needle with string.
My eyes widened and a whimper escaped my lips. "Don't worry, it might hurt but just think about afterwards. It'll be over and I won't have to do anything else with a needle" Ghoul said soothingly to me. Kobra kneeled at the foot of my bed with a look of horror in his eyes while Party stood next to Jet with glossy eyes. Jet still gripped onto my hand. I closed my eyes tightly and waited for the pain to come. Then I felt it, I cried out and bit into the belt.
"It's okay" Jet soothed. He took my hand in both of his. After a few more stitches, Ghoul bandaged me up. I took the ruined belt out of my mouth and placed it next to me. I got up slowly and hugged ghoul, I hissed at the pain shooting through my arm, but I didn't care. Then I hugged Jet, he squeezed me and kissed the top of my head. I looked at Kobra and Party and held my arms out for them. They both cuddled me and I sighed in relief.
I didn't even get to finish my coffee.
