Just another Killjoy

Madeline's P.O.V

I could hear people murmuring to each other. "She's different, she's still there" I heard some whisper. "I know, she needs real feelings. Emotions. Something like that will help her! Love, happiness or friendship can help" some voice said after, it was a voice I heard only in the Lab.

I squinted my eyes open, afraid that the blinding fluorescent light was over me. This time I was safe, no bright lights only a yellowish white ceiling and a window. The voices hushed and I felt someone sit on the bed beside me. "Madeline?" a voice whispered. My hand was being held so tight I thought it was going to crumble. I wiped the sweat off my forehead, something that happens in the hundred degree desert. I glanced around the room and saw everyone. I smiled brightly and sat up, only to feel a stabbing pain in the head and fall back down.

I tried getting back up again, this time at a slower pace. Gerard was sitting on the bed beside me, he was the one holding my hand. I felt something 'ping' in my chest. The headache died down a little. Gerard let go of my hand and hugged me tightly. The same 'ping' went off in my chest, the headache got smaller.
'Love, Happiness or Friendship can help' the voice from earlier echoed in my head. I pulled back from the hug and held Gerard's face in my hands, I looked deeply into his eyes and placed my lips on his. He was surprised but kissed me back. My headache was only that of a minor one. I felt happy, I was in love. Friendship is the last thing on my list.

I let go of him so I could get up. I pushed myself off the bed and stumbled a little before straightening up. I cracked my knuckles and spread my arms open. "Give me a hug" I ordered.
Ray, Mikey and Frank looked at eachother before tackling me to the ground. I fell on my back, they held onto me and my headache disappeared. My mind felt clearer, I felt like myself again.
I hugged them back and sighed in relief. I heard a familiar deep voice come from the side of us. "When am I getting some love?" Dr. Death asked. I jumped out of the pile and ran to my uncle. I gave him a big hug and he spun me around. "Don't you ever scare me like that again sweetie!" He exclaimed and let me go. "I promise cool cat" I smirked and he danced on the spot. "That will never get old" I chuckled and patted him on the shoulder.

I gasped when I saw the last face. Him. He was the guy that ignored me. "You!" I shouted and jabbed him in the shoulder with my finger. He looked frightened and stepped back. "You stupid son of a bitch, you ignored me! I was scared and you left me to get knocked out, you asshole. Give me a good reason not to tear you apart right now" I shouted in his face. He stepped back and ran into the wall. I felt a hand on my shoulder and saw Mikey. "He helped us save you" he informed me. I hesitated a moment before stepping away from the poor man. "My apologies" I looked down and stepped back.

"Excuse me for just a, uh, second" I jogged out of the room and toward the bathroom. What the fuck am I doing? I shouldn't have shouted at that man, he was only doing his job right? Well he did ignore me. I got to the basin and leaned against it. I saw my face and nearly screamed. MY HAIR! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MY HAIR! IT'S FREAKING WHITE? WHAT?

I examined my hair and groaned. My hair was the best feature I had. I turned the tap on and splashed myself with water. I then noticed the suit that I was wearing, it was completely white, Nothing a little dye and paint won't fix. I grinned devilishly and went back into the hallway. I heard the voices coming from my room. "She was injected with a chemical called Hyperphonesthine, it is a type of drug that can make a person stronger, faster more stealthy. With the right amount of training she can be able to control it. Korse wasn't joking when he said he wanted the ultimate soldier" The doctor sighed. I creeped past my room and into the diner where my brother and friends sat in a booth. I stopped where I was and watched them. They looked nervous.

Sam was the first to notice me, she squealed and ran toward me. Jess and Katherine followed after her and I was tackled in hugs and "I missed you". I laughed and hugged them back. I saw my brother, he walked over to me and I held my arms out, he picked me up and held me tight. "Don't you ever go running off without me like that" He breathed into my neck. I hugged him tighter and sighed. "I didn't want you to worry about me" He put me down gently. "Worry about you? I wasn't only worried about you I was angry, Furious. You let that asshole take you away and almost turn you into some droid" He raged.

I took a step back and looked anywhere but his face. "Why do you have to be so reckless? I've heard the stories. I don't want you to ever go into Battery city alone, you hear me?" He shouted. I nodded and twiddled my thumbs. "Good, now give me a hug" He opened his arms for me and I cuddled into him. "You really scared me Maddie" He stroked my hair. He let me go and Jess played with my hair. "We should get you some hair dye" Jess mumbled. I smirked and looked around. "There's a hair dresser in Zone 8" I whispered to her and Katherine shook her head.

"You, Miss Lewis, are not going anywhere. Myself and Samantha will go and get you some hair dye" Jess folded her arms across her chest. I groaned in defeat. "You better get some good freaking colours then!" I narrowed my eyes at them and Nathan spoke up. "I'll help them get the right colours" He said. Katherine smiled and wrapped an arm around my waist, I'm going with Kobra and Jet to get some supplies and clothes" She let me go and walked out to the garage. "Hey can you tell them that I'm ready to leave?" She asked and continued on walking to the garage.

When I went into my bedroom I pointed at Ray and Mikey. "You two, garage. Snow" I said. They patted me on the back and ran out of the room. So, I was left with Gerard, Frank, the doctor and my crazy uncle.

"What's on today's planner?" I smiled.
