I'm running. Running as fast as I can back to the bridge. It looks surprisingly empty from the distance I'm at. But I can already hear his running behind me. As I'm speeding away to. H destination, I'm wondering to myself why I didn't just slit my wrists when I had the chance. I can hear his panting, he's catching up to me. I make the emergency turn, turning back into the pathway, YES! The knife's still there. He's surprised by my turn, not expecting me to change my plans, but I do. I run down the pathway, hurrying to the silver blade. But he's already on the other side. And the struggle for the knife begins. He tries pulling it away by the blade, so he won't stab me, but I have a good grip on the handle, and the blade is slippery. As his grip falls, I run. I keep running. Anywhere. Anywhere private, with my backpack still on my shoulders.
Most people might find it strange that a 12 year olds carrying a large kitchen knife, but none of them stop. Even though I know he's following me, running after me, I don't care. I'm going to finish it all by the end of the day, I make it a promise.
Finding the perfect spot, but he's right at my tails, speeding. He seems determined not to let me do it. I don't focus on him though. I don't even care if he sees it anymore, I shut my eyes, bringing the knife closer, I don't want to do it. YES, YOU DO. JUST DO IT. the voice is mean. But there he is again. "PLEASE, LET'S JUST TALK THIS OVER. DON'T DO IT. It's not worth it."
But with my eyes still closed, I hear his heavy breathing, the suspense only thickening, and without hesitation, I make the cut.
