"Cola told me everything before he died. He told me about how BLI came to be. He told me about the fear that held them together.

"He told me about life before the Killjoys were the Killjoys. How they were just teenagers, no older than I am, who saw something wrong with the world and stood up for it. They tried to change it. And how his friends all died just because they believed in something bigger than they were.

"And he told me about the masks they wore. He told me the masks that represented individuality didn't stand for anything if there was nothing behind them. You could have the brightest colors - the most outlandish design, and it wouldn't matter if the person wearing it didn't believe in what it stood for. He told me that sometimes if you don't change the world, the world will change you. And he left me with this:

"'Because at the end of the day when the lights go out and your friends go home. When the radio dies before the world ends. When the stars call out in pain.

"'There is a road that you can always walk to help you find your way. But it's not where you end up or where you started that matters, it's the pavement in between.'"
