Gerard's POV

It's been a while since everything quieted out, now. I met a girl, Lyn-z, and we're doing pretty good. She gets on with Lye and Frank and she's every thing I could've ever wanted in a girlfriend. The band is doing great, but Lye is someone that I like to keep with Ray, Mikey, Frank, Lyn-z and I.
As for the parents, according to Mr Callister, Vanity's body is lying at the bottom of a lake, and he's currently a bartender, I guess. It's nothing too exiting.
Anyway, even though it is nice not pointing a gun anywhere, or saying goodbye for the first last time, It feels kinda empty ever since everything mellowed out on that side of things.
I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a lot less stress, but it's almost gone back to the same old same old. But, call me crazy, I like it that way, for now. I don't have a roadblock in my path. My future isn't set in stone, so maybe it might get a little more adventurous then. But for now, someone, somewhere, gave me a break.
And when me and Lyn-z are...doing our..."wrestling", Lye teaches Frank how to draw, and he helps her with her reading. I'm happy to say that she left her stutter behind her. She gave up on trying to please other people, and she's now more Lyra than she's ever been. Which is amazing.
Mikey's finally learnt to accept the whole situation. And he's softened his imminent poker face a bit, which is proof that nothing's impossible.
I have to say, as much as everything's smoothed out, we've still stayed ourselves.
I've learnt a lot from this experience. I've learnt how to save lives. And now that's what I try to do every time I walk onto that stage, thinking about the one most important live I kept from being wasted on the death that would've grabbed it.
I can't imagine a life without Lye. She taught me something nobody else could. SHe taught me that it doesn't matter how old or young a package is, or how damaged it is, or how bumpy the path was, but with a bit of help, you can fix whatever's in it. And I could never imagine her as anyone but the person who taught me what makes a life worth living, now:
