The Only Hope For You Is Me

*Frank’s POV*
Gerard grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the barns. What the hell was going on? I took me about 20 seconds until the anger flooded my body. The panic was all gone now. This was not okay. I had lost everybody. I was not going to lose my new beautiful friend, too. The anger took over my mind; I hated the world so much in this moment. All my shyness was gone.
I started pulling Gerard away from the complex towards the small forest. I was going to do everything to keep him with me, alive. Quickly I explained to him that the barns wouldn’t be the safest place to go to. When we reached the forest, I picked out a tree; we climbed it and sat down on a branch. After a few minutes Gerard started shacking. I put my arm around him and tried to comfort him with words. My anger wore of slowly, but the adrenaline was still rushing through my body.
“What’s the plan now?” Gerard asked. He had pulled himself together again.
“I’m not sure. We can’t really leave the base, since we wouldn’t survive alone.”
“We can’t just sit here forever either, but I don’t think we should go back, yet.”
I nodded. We just sat on the branch for about 20 minutes in silence.
“Frank, who is you favorite band? You never finished telling me.”

Gerard smiled and explained that he loved this band. But I cut him off. Three people were approaching the forest. When they came closer, I was able to make out several guns. A guy was pushing a handcuffed girl. A tall woman was right behind them. They stopped in front of the forest.
“Gerard Way, Mike Thompson, Elisabeth Strang, Frank Iero.”, the woman shouted.
The guy continued: “ You are the only ones missing in the assembly hall, but your attendance is essential. If you don’t show up within 10 minutes, this girl and three others will be shot. If you don’t come in the next 10 minutes after that, four other people will die. Choose wisely.”
