The Only Hope For You Is Me

*Gerard’s POV*
I picked up Frank after he was done and we went for a walk. I asked him about comics and he talked a lot. I was so happy that we were having an actual conversation. He looked so amazing, I couldn’t take my eyes of him and he also made me laugh a lot.
Then I happened. He was just about to name his favorite band, when we heard a shot. I took both of us a few seconds to realize what had happened. Frank spun around and looked at me in panic. I hesitated for a second, then grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the barns, because I figured we should hide there until we had decided what to do. I couldn’t let anything happen to him, especially not now, when I just got him to talk to me. Halfway to the barn Frank’s shyness and panic were gone. He tightened his grip around my hand and pulled me away from the barn.
“If someone wants to find us, they will look all around the complex, especially in the barns.”, he explained and pulled me towards the little forest. He was right, if there was somebody looking for us, they would first look all around the buildings and after that outside the complex. The forest would buy us time.
When we reached the first trees, we picked one not too close to the edge of the forest, but close enough that we could still see the complex. We climbed it and sat down on a thick branch.
“I knew something like this had to happen.”, Frank murmured. He seemed quite annoyed and angry, it was almost like as if he was more afraid of social interaction than actual danger.
We sat on the tree in silence. When the first shock had worn of, I became really frightened and started shaking a bit. Frank had been sitting next to me in silence, staring at the buildings, but now he put his arm around my shoulders.
“It’s gonna be okay, we should be safe here.”, he told me.
I was so astonished, that I forgot my fear. This guy had been blushing, when he asked me where I wanted to hang out, and now he was comforting me.
