One word. One sweet word. Memories hit me like a deadly wave and washed me away.

“Frankieee!”

“Silly willy Frankie-boo,”

“Oh my God YES! Of course I’ll marry you, Frankie!”

“I love you, Frankie.”

Oh I love you too, Adie. I miss you...

It’s been too long. This needs to stop. I felt so guilty for Lou. She had to see me like this. I couldn’t believe she cared this much about me. She kept hugging me as I tried not to cry on her shoulder. Fuck, we were still in the restaurant. I moved my body a little so she’d let go of me. She still had a worried look on her face. “I’m okay, Lou. Don’t worry about me.” I kissed her cheek to assure her. Her face soften a bit and held my hand. “Are you sure? Listen, Frank. You can always tell me anything, okay?” “Yeah, thank you so much, Lou.” I hugged her again and we left the restaurant.

As the day went, I started to slowly forget about her. I was having so much fun with Lou and I didn’t wanna ruin it. I really think we’ve got something going on. It’s just funny how I said that only 2 days after meeting her. I silently laughed at that thought, with her noticing.

“What?” She looked at me with questioning eyes. “Oh, nothing,” I poked my tongue out and walked past her. Suddenly I felt a weight on my back. She freakin’ jumped on me. “I’m not coming down until you tell me why you laughed, Mister Frank...?” She opened her sentence for me to answer. “Anthony Iero Jr.” She was actually really light, so I adjusted so she can be more comfortable. “Anthony Iero Jr.“ She repeated. “Well, I guess I’ll have to carry you aaaall the way home.” I kept walking with her on my back. “Okay, I’m cool with that.” She rested her chin to my shoulder and I could feel her breathing.

After quite a while, breathing became hard for me. Goddamn smoker’s lungs. She seemed to notice that and asked me to put her down. “Alright, grandpa. Don’t die just yet! Stay with me now! Suh-taaaayyy!” She cupped her hands on either sides of my cheeks and started to mush them. “I’ll stay with you forever,” I looked straight into her eyes and her face went red. Oh God, she was so adorable! We stared at each other for a while in silence. Is this it? Is this the right time? What if she doesn’t want to? What if I offended her? Would she leave me like everyone else I knew? I threw my cares away. I leaned in and kissed her lips. I felt butterflies in my stomach, and fireworks in my head. We moved in sync and it was just perfect. Everything was perfect. We parted and looked at each other disbelievingly. I was nervous for her reaction and smiled gladly when she smiled.

“I like you, Lucille Marjorie Way,”

“And I like you too, Frank Anthony Iero,”

“Junior.” “Right! Junior!”

We just stood there in silence and just stared at each other. Suddenly, Lou’s phone rang. It rang a couple times before she picked it up.

“Yello!” She answered with a grin.

“Uh-huh,”

“Yeah I’m in that class,”

“OH CRAP THAT’S TODAY?!”

“Oh God, fuck--shit, sorry, okay, I’ll be there in...uh...I’ll be there as soon as possible! Thank you!”

She looked up to me, looking as guilty as humanly possible. “What’s up?” I asked. “Oh crap oh crap oh crap,” She started losing focus and rambling random curse words. “Frank, I’m reeeeally sorry, oh God. I totally forgot I had an extra dance course for my application! I’m really sorry,” She looked as if she was gonna cry. “It’s alright, Lou. Don’t worry about it. What time does it start?” I hugged her to calm her down as she was shaking under my arms. “At 7...” I looked at my watch. 6:37. Damn, we spent a lot of time together. “Where is it?” She opened her phone and showed me the address. “Okay, we can reach there in about 10 minutes. Do you need to go back to Gee’s to get your stuffs?” She nodded. “Alright, let’s go.” I held her hand as we walk quickly to Gee’s.
