Be My Wife
I headed over to the bedroom we shared, determined to find the letter and play along in his little game.
Our bedroom was smaller than the average bedroom, but big enough to fit a bed and a few other pieces of furniture comfortably. Our bed was neatly covered with white sheets and a tan cover, which made the baby-blue walls pop. The bed was placed against the top left corner of the room, against the window on the north wall. The window gave us a great look of the street below and the cars driving by. Beside the bed was a wooden nightstand, which had a lamp and a pile of my favorite books resting on top of it. It also had a couple of drawers, which held many miscellaneous things that we had acquired through the years. We also had an old television set in the front of the room that was not used very often. Beside it was a small bookcase with nothing more than Gerard's comic books, a few CD's and other books that I could not get rid of. Next to the bookcase was the door that led to a walk-in closet. I always tried my best to keep the room neat and clean, but since I had to find the letter I did not care if I made a mess.
After minutes of searching, I finally found the letter sticking out from underneath the mattress. I had overlooked it at first and felt really stupid knowing it had been right in front of me the whole time. Before opening the letter, I looked around the mess I would have to clean up later. The bed was undone, the sheets were sprawled over the bed and cascaded down the side. It looked like someone had slept in them for a while and had recently woken up. The lamp on top of the nightstand was tipped over and the pile of books were scattered on the floor, some missing the bookmarks I had placed in them. A few books and comic books in our bookcase were sticking out from the neat rows they were placed in. The bookcase had been the last place I searched before turning around and noticing the thin, white envelope sticking out from under the mattress. I went back to the letter and forced myself to remember to clean this up. I ripped open the envelope, which had my name written on the front in Gerard's loving handwriting. I unfolded the letter and began reading it.
Dear Frank,
I hope it didn't take you long to find this letter, sugar!
I wanted to start this little game out in one of my favorite places, our bedroom. I love coming home every night knowing you're already there, peacefully sleeping. You look like an angel when you sleep, did I ever tell you that, love? You look like an adorable baby, curled up in the sheets.
Remember when we first moved into our apartment? I was having trouble sleeping that night. I don't know if it was the excitement of finally having privacy or just being homesick, but I could not close my eyes. I guess my restlessness woke you up eventually, because I felt you wrap your arms around my waist trying to get me to fall asleep. When you realized that wasn't working, you started singing softly to me. And the sound of your voice, that did the trick. The first few nights in our new place were tough for me because I wasn't used to being away from my old basement, but you made me feel comfortable and loved. I fell asleep with the sound of you voice singing one of the verses of "Be My Wife" by David Bowie:
Please be mine,
Share my life,
Stay with me,
Be my wife.
God, I love you so much Frank. And I always will.

I felt my cheeks turn pink. Gerard knew how to make me blush. I did remember that night, it was the first night we both had slept in the same bed without worrying about someone seeing us. I felt a smile growing on my face as I stuffed the note in my back pocket. I was really liking this game. I hurried to the bathroom, making a mental note to give Gerard a big kiss once I found him.

I'm so so so sorry about taking so long with new chapters. I'm not sure how I feel about this chapter because it's so short, but I promise I'll make the next one longer and (hopefully) I won't take months to update again.Anyways, thank you for reading/subscribing/commenting/etc.
