Picking up the Pieces
This, is where I start.
Characters
Sadie Weber- A young orphan maid working for Gerard.
Frank Iero- Employing Sadie and paying here highly but frequently sexually abusing her.
Gerard Way- Noticing Sadie's abuse and saving her from his corrupt and perverted best friend.
**Sadie's POV**
I couldn't wait until February 27th, the day I was due for release of the orphanage. I had lived there for as long as I could remember and now, it was almost time to leave. It was already the 26th. One more day, and I would finally be out of here. I spent my last day packing my few possessions, saying goodbye to the women who raised me, and all the other girls who had become my friends. I went to the main office to collect my admission and release documents and legal papers. I looked up at the release officer, who handled all releases. He look very cold and emotionless. I felt sorry for him, he looked as if every time he gave a girl a legal release form, he lost a child. "Sign right here, Sadie. Then you'll can leave by morning. We'll miss you. Happy 18th birthday, Ms. Weber." I didn't know what his name was, he never actually wore a pin stating it, so I replied with a polite, "Thank you, Sir" and signed the papers. I left the main office immediately afterwards, it was way too calm there. It seem like everyone who ran the office were like living ghosts lurking about. I returned to my bunk to bundle my various belongings. I didn't own much, but I did have I few things. A hairbrush that I used almost everyday for 17 years, a tiny little gold ring that fit only on my right pinky, and a heavily used quilt. I bundled up everything and went straight to bed.
**Next Day**
I woke up they next day considerably earlier than my peers. I checked a clock only to see it was 5:15 in the morning. I quietly grabbed my belongings and left the bunkhouse for a final time. As I strolled through the halls and looked out the windows, I tried to fill myself with a sense of nostalgia. But, it didn't work. I pulled out my release forms to the night guard. "Well, well, well. What do we have here?" He inspected my forms. "Sadie Weber, time of birth 4:49 am on a Tuesday. It looks like these papers have been approved and you clearly have your bags packed. How eager! Well, I don't wanna keep you. So, right this way." He lead me through a dark hall to the grand door, where I will walk out and start my journey. "Right here, Ms. Weber" he said as he gestured the main doorway. I looked and noticed that he was wearing a name pin. It read "Greg Parker". Just as I was about to thank him, the sun shined through the windows and illuminated the entire hallway. Then I snapped out of it, "Thank you for your service, Mr. Parker".
He replied politely with a simple, "Just doin' my job, Ms. Weber". He gestured once more to the door and I got the idea. I gripped the old, creaky knob and walked outside.
