Chapter sixty one

It would be a lie if you were to stay it wasn't strange waking up and finding a second head poke out from the blankets. Half lidded eyes turned to the figure, taking the time to study the light brown hair and remembering that it had been Drew, and the sight made Gerard smile. It was nice that the two could finally have privacy and access to become intimate with each other without the pain of sharing the tiny bed or moving his IV cord so he could touch Drew.

Warm fingers danced down his muscular arms before Gerard pressed himself against the warm body, all too quickly as Drew moved himself. He turned to his back, tired eyes glancing over to the desperate boy next to him. His lazy smirk only won Gerard over more as he wrapped his leg around the other's. Words weren't needed as their passionate glances at each other were soothing enough. Drew's breaths were louder than Gerard's as his body still needed to recover from being sleep deprived. Gerard noticed and pushes his head deeper between their two bodies. His nose grazed over the soft skin, his eyes closed and Drew could feel the sweet bliss of butterfly kisses as Gerard blinked against his sides.

It was as if Drew's muscular arm created a barrier where no pain could taint Gerard as it was wrapped around his shoulders. As if the touch was enough to protect Gerard from the truth of his life. Gerard imagined that he was invincible from the emotional grenade that was sure to explode all too soon. Every bit of memory would be distinguished in a matter of seconds when the time comes. A bitter thought but he couldn't hide himself from the fact that his was the smartest bomb, and it would hurt like a bitch.

Drew's actions mimicked Gerard as his fingers brushed against the soft flesh of Gerard's shoulders. His blue eyes were energized enough where they lost their lazy appearance, they glanced down at the fawn cuddled against him. A white grin conquered Drew's face and he was the first to speak.

"I'm so glad were out of that dumb hospital." Drew chose as his words, they were covered in a thick scratchy accent. He spoke the truth, he was glad as hell that they were out of there. The white walls grew intimidating as they forced the confinement and seemed as if they slowed down time itself, but only sped up Gerard's growth. He now looked the same age as Drew was. His body was exhausted from the battle that everyone knew he'd lose, but told themselves otherwise.

A pale face turned away from the warm contort of Drew and green eyes met blue. His smirk was white as he turned, a position where he was both on his back and side. A new set of words were brought in as a hand moved through sex mussled hair. "for sure." his words were short but their effect was still strong. It soothed Drew to know that his lover was still breathing.

Drew's smile grew and a small laugh escaped him. "and were going to celebrate tonight. A welcome home party back at my place."

The moment didn't need a verbal reply, the silence strangely comforted the two. Warm skin rubbed against each other as Gerard turned over again. A bliss as he nodded his head in response. The action caused a sudden wave of uncertainty, as if the decision wasn't right. It caused Gerard to shiver but healed himself and tilted his kind head back up and smiled at the face looking down at him.

His house looked the same as the last time Gerard could remember. The dark blue walls held comfort as pictures hung on the walls. Framing perfect memories of his life time and Gerard was content when he found that his and Drew's memories were preserved behind the glass of a picture frame. They days before the sick storm were calming, and in the moment it was if cancer wasn't taking over his life. He felt that he was never sick, that his brother wasn't dead, he felt like he was home. And this was his home for a while, Drew wanting nothing more than to take care of Gerard and protect him from the pain, because he understood it all too well.

A warm hand held onto Gerard's and a smile reaches his face. Drew returned the gesture and their arms swung gently and the two still stood by the doorway. The taller of the two broke the comfortable silence. "We should go shopping for tonight. I literally have like nothing here." Drew complained, although it came out more as a joke then anything.

Gerard laughed and met up with Drew's gaze, "well you were never here anyways." he gave Drew a look to complete the expression now in the air. Drew turned away smiling, his cheeks were pink as they hid under a layer of stubble. He ran his hand through his hair and let out an embarrassed laugh.

"yeah.. I have no excuse." Drew smirked in defeat. Both of the boys knew well why Drew was never home and his house was left exactly the way it had been since he'd last been here. The same articles of clothes and blankets scattered around the living room, endless pile of movie and Nintendo games piled on the wooden coffee table. Gerard's face grew warm as he wondered if Drew's room was still the same, sex mangled state as it was before. If their sin was ever washed away from the sheets. Did Drew even stay in his room anymore? It was obvious that someone had been claiming the couch for sleep as blankets and pillows littered the area. A shy wave of guilt came over Gerard and a tiny noise came from him.

Drew looked back at the fawn and looked in wonder at him. Curious in what on earth was that noise and why Gerard had made it in the first place. Words never passed his lips but eyes spoke a deep conversation as the two gazed into each others. Gerard grew dominance in the battle and Drew looked away uncertain. Inexperienced with the strategy of submission.

Gerard soon found the power he now had in the situation, knowing all to well on dominance. His lips curled into a smirk and his hand clutched Drew's. Without asking for permission he tugged his wrist and Drew followed Gerard like a dog. Gerard's mind was set on what he now wanted and how he'd get it. The thoughts pleased him and his blood ran elsewhere.

Gerard couldn't decide if the walk up the stair way was to quick or if it seemed endless. The world around him spun as a switch in Gerard was now flipped. He one had all control and he'd do anything to keep it for the moment. His mind was set on Drew as he ignored the decretive tables in the hallway, almost knocking one down as he tossed Drew into his bedroom. Like a corralled animal, Gerard backed Drew farther in his room. Cornering him as he fell back onto the bed. The blankets breaking his fall and his back never met the surface of the mattress as he sat up, but Gerard was egar to change that.

He made a seductive smirk before pushing the other down, climbing on top of him and both knew that's exactly what the two desperately wanted and needed to break free from temptation. Gerard's knees climbed on top of the bed, the untouched blanket was not being torn up between the two. "do you ever go in your room?" Gerard asked, his face inches away from Drew's tilting his head as he exhaled his last word.

Drew was frozen, his body in shock from lust and embarrassment that he hadn't been in his room for days. Almost un touched and Gerard knew it. "not really." Drew blushed as he squirmed under Gerard. Drew's breath hitched as his body was suddenly pushed down by a pressure controlled by Gerard. "it's weird being in here alone." Drew finished, his breathing was heavy and his heart beat sped unlike he was on steroids. Both of the boys knew Drew's answer was total malarkey, but Gerard smiled because that's what the moment needed. Words to persuade the other to fall apart and give in to lust. Their dramatic passion grew strongest and Gerard could no longer hold himself back from kissing his helpless victim.

The fawn shook awake once the sound of bloodly screams rang in his ears, it took about another thirty seconds until he remembered Drew's taste in music. How the boy can like the type is something Gerard may never know. But for the moment Gerard laid his back down on the bed once more. Blank stares were thrown at the ceiling as his palms rubbed sleep out of his eyes. Gerard supposed that Drew woke up a while ago but their cat nap was more than refreshing and Gerard was sure to be in a good mood for the rest of the night.

He took a quick glance at the clock on the night stand, shocked that it had already been six pm. While self punishing himself, Gerard climbed out of the bed. Deciding that there would be no point putting his clothes back on he headed to the bathroom. He began to run the shower and it was heaven. It had been a while since an actual shower and Gerard took his delicate time washing himself.

Gerard found the mirror to be coated with steam once he'd gotten out of the shower, un able to see his reflection. With that he made his way back into the bedroom, heading over to the night stand where Gerard kept some clothes incase a situation like this occurred again. Quickly the boy got dressed but still stood shirtless. Supposing Drew wouldn't give a damn if he took one of his shirts, so Gerard shrugged while he headed to Drew's closet. Not really caring what it was, Gerard pulled out a black shirt and threw it over his head. The obvious height difference of the two showed as the shirt felt a size to large. But again, it would be ripped off again in a matter of hours so what the hell.

Things at home were silent, as usual. Just the blared sound of the televison as the volume was turned up to high. Fierce cat eyes watched the screen, he sat still as Cody began to move around to scratch behind his ear. The metal of his collar rang and Frank turned to him. He smiled as he patted the dog's head. Cody was content at the moment until a noise arouse from upstairs. He barked to alert Frank but he hadn't known that Frank heard the noise too.

The boy groaned as he was forced to get up in order to answer the door. Like a mother, Cody followed Frank up the stairs. He sat beside Frank as he opened the door. Frank had made a small noise in surprise when he saw the face behind the door. He smiled.

"Can I come in?" He implied, looking back at Frank. All the boy could do was stare back in shock, he took a moment before he snapped out of his trance.

"Yeah, sure." Frank answered, stepping away from the door as he let his old friend in. The figure turned around and the two faced each other. Frank looked back on Justin as he had his hands deep in his pockets and leaned on his heels.

"Sooo." Justin hesitated and stared at the walls of the living room.

"Soo." Frank mimicked his friend and a smile came back to his face. The last thing he'd expect was to see Justin again and here he was right in front of him. The tall, skinny boy he called his best friend.

"Uh, well how have you been?" The taller of the two started again, his hands were now out of his pockets and now scratched the back of his neck. Frank smirked at Justin's obvious actions and decided to get things going along.

"Wanna go in my room?" Frank motioned down the dark steps beside the two, looking back at Justin as he waited for his reply.

"Yeah, sure." He smiled, signaling Frank to lead the way down to the basement. Claiming his usual spot on the couch and Justin sat beside him. The two turned and now faced each other. Frank began the conversation.

"So how are you with everything?" Frank asked, playing with his fingers as he waited for an answer.

Justin took his time to sort out his answer. His eyes wandered around the room. "Okay, I got over it finally." Justin mumbled the last part as his played with his sweat shirt sleeve.

"That's good, so you're back in school?"

"I have been." Justin's eyes met up with Frank's again and they shared a laugh. The small action lifted Frank's mood and he was the happiest he's been in a long time. "Are YOU still in school?" Justin joked, eyeing Frank.

Frank laughed, "ha, no. I got expelled."

"Typical." Justin joked, and the two shared the moment together and savored the emotion. Even if the two had nothing to say, it was enough for Frank. Anything would be enough anymore, he had nothing. He was stuck with nothing. But it was no one's fault but his.

"I um." Justin hesitated again. "I got accepted to Duke." Justin muttered, embarrassed that Frank would laugh at him. How Bob and Chris would laugh whenever he would get good grades or do his homework. For a moment he didn't even know why he told Frank. but his confidence was restored when he heard Frank's response.

"Seriously? Dude, isn't that a really hard school to get into?" Frank grinned, shocked and proud of Justin. The only one of his friend's to finish highschool and get acceptance letters in the mail.

"Yeah, I guess." Justin shrugged. Frank pondered to himself on what words he would pick next but Justin beat him to the finish line. "Are you going to Drew's party?"

The sudden question acted as ice and Drew's name mentioned was fire. Frank felt a bundle of feelings pile up inside of him. But the reason why Justin came over was now obvious and Frank knew that Justin wanted to, but had no one to go with. Denying the invite would be harsh since the two boys hadn't spoken in ages and the future was sure to be hell as Justin had graduation and to move half way across the country to go to school. Frank sighed.

"Uh, sure. I wasn't in-" Frank stopped. "Oh shit.." He spoke out loud as he remembered last night. Drew almost dragging, well carried Frank up the stairs, but now Frank knew why.
"Yeah, I'll go. What time are you going?"

"It's eight right now so."

"It's already eight?!" Frank shot up, groaning as to many things were thrown at him. But that's what Frank got when he did nothing but sleep all day and take the dog out.

"Yeah, I wanted to leave whenever you were ready I guess."

"Oh, yeah. I'll just shower real quick. Um, you can go get something to eat if you want while I get ready." Frank suggested as he stood to his feet, Justin following him. The boy only nodded before parting and making his way up the stairs and out the door while Frank turned to the bathroom. Just like that the two boys were separated again.
