Frank’s POV

I leaned back on my hospital pillows again, looking up at the ceiling while I turned the thought over in my mind.

He loves me.

Gerard Way loves me.

How do I even respond to that?

First he calls it a lie, now he says it’s true.

How can I be sure he means it?

How do I know he’s not just saying that because it’s what I want to hear?

I can’t know…

Not for sure.

And that’s the problem.

I was jerked from my thoughts by a nervous cough next to me.

“F-frankie?” I heard a voice whisper. I had forgotten Gerard was in the room with me. I turned my head slightly towards him to see his teeth working furiously at his lip, chewing away the skin. He was looking at me with big eyes, round with worry. His fear somehow confirmed to me that this was no lie. He really meant it. He loved me.

Wow…

I blinked once, reminding myself to stay in reality. I looked over at Gerard fully, searching his face and seeing his anxiety quite clearly. My eyes travelled upward to meet his timid ones, and when our gazes locked, I did what I hoped would look like a gentle smile.

“I love you too.”

He just stared for a moment before a look of relief took over his features.

“Really?” he whispered.

“Really.” I smiled more at him. His face lit up with his own smile. He giggled softly, a slightly giddy sound. I returned the giggle, my eyes shining.
“So… if we both like each other… which we’ve both declared…” His smile widened momentarily farther at that. I giggled softly before continuing.

“Then maybe I could… have another kiss?”

Short chapter I know, but I wanted to end on that line because I find it funny and cute :3 Am I the only one? Maybe? Ah well. Hope you like this, I'll try to make the next one longer if it fits. :)
