You're Never Gonna Fit In Much

We start the walk to my dingy apartment. I thought there'd be an awkward silence like there always is when I'm involved... but there wasn't. I was really relaxed and Frank kept going on rants. All I asked was if he liked Black Flag...

At first he was like " Fuck yes! Is that a question?!"
then he did a mini rant about how all the people against them are full of shit
then he was all " they're the best!"

Me being me I got a little offended. " There are a lot of bands that tie for first ya know?"

"For example..." He drawled and I assumed he wanted me to fill in the blank.

"I could never chose Pulp or Smiths. They tie."

"I don't get it but I'll nod." as stated that he nodded

"it's like- ugh- I can't explain it more." I racked my brain " some things you just can't compare."

"like you're gorgeous eyes to-" I stopped in my tracks "what's wrong, Gee?"

I like that. Him calling me Gee. It made the romantic whatever in me increase. I feel heat on me face and duck my head in hopes that my hair would hide the blush.
He giggles when I blush. Shit. But the giggles cute.

Priorities.

I look up again. Yep. I hoped I'd been wrong, but my bad luck is good at stretching . I analyze the situation.

Mikey's handing some brown bag to some chick.
Brown bags are never good. The dealer always gets the worse time and bail. Why?

Why would he do this? He was gonna do some good. Take that bass and hit the road. Make something of himself.
Now he's a dealer.

i wait for him to finish the transaction. He took the risk and they already have the merch, so he should get the money. As soon as the customer was gone, I was in front of him in a flash.

" Michael Janes Way,we need to talk. Now" I forced the words through clenched teeth.

"Gerard. Just calm down okay-" he was calm, but I saw a glint of fear... I need to relax. Before I can't.

i took a deep breath and chose my words carefully. Frank had strolled over from god knows where, but he had a huge bucket of ice cream in hand and a cupcake in his mouth. What the fuck?

Is this even real life right now?! Another deep breath.

Mikes is dealing brown bags of most likely downers judging from the looks of that girl and Frank can produce sweets at of thin air! Another breath.

" Mikey, where's Ray?" I ask exasperated

" At our place. His dad's been drunk on cheap whiskey since Wednesday." You could tell he was getting mad. I don't know the situation with Ray and his home-life, but I knew Mikey hated Ray's dad.

" Mikey he's gonna be fine. You said he's at our place right?" All I got was a nod. " Is he hurt?"

" He said he wasn't but he didn't tell me last time..." Miikey darted his gaze. Someday I'll have to figure out the deal with Ray. It made Mikey uncomfortable every time I asked about...well anything.

Ray should just move in with us. He already spends like every night at our place.
"Why doesn't Ray move in again?"

Mikey rolls his eyes. At first it was annoying, but you learn to just deal. " We can't afford it Gee. Where would he sleep? His dad still pays for food. And clothes. We're tight as it is."

Although everyone knows how Mikey feels about Ray, we've crunched the numbers and it /just won't work/.

"We can figure something out, Mikes. We have before."

He shook his head. We've had this exact conversation so many times before...

" We need more money, man. Period." He held up the wad of cash "money makes the world go round."

.... It always ended with both of us accepting we need money.

I'm trying to stick to a schedule, but no promises. I'm running out of words to bend and vows to break.

Okay well, I said no promises, but I promise I'll update soon.... hopefully. But I still promise.
i slept most of today, so I'm up late.
