NOTE: Everything Jade or Connor says that's completely italicized is in Korean. Just so ya know.

(Kara's POV)
Gerard, Mikey, Frank, Ray, and I stood behind Jack as he fiddled with his keys, trying to get the door open. "Dude, why don't you just knock? I though you said your roommate was here. His car is in the driveway, too." Frank piped up as Jack continued to struggle with his keys. "Oh, Connor. That boy is always sleeping and he would most definitely kill all of us if we woke him up." Jack said with a serious tone that made most of the boys look scared, but I knew Connor was harmless.
Finally, Jack got the door open and the boys and I flooded in, almost knocking him down. I saw Connor sit up begrudgingly on the couch and sigh. He shot a death-glare at Jack with his yellow, half-Korean eyes. Jack tried to ignore him and plopped down on the plush brown couch. The other boys sat down on either of the two couches or the floor (which Mikey seemed to prefer) except for Ray who was looking around the house with a dumbfounded look on his face.
"Did you sleep well?" Jack asked Connor, who was still shooting daggers at him. "No." "Ahh, yeah. You said you'd been having a problem with nightmares, right?" Connor looked at him for a second, his face getting a little softer. "Yes." Connor was very fluent in one-word answers. He pushed his messy brown hair out of his face and got into a more comfortable position as Ray interrupted their sorry excuse for a conversation, still looking stupefied. "It's just you two living in this huge-ass house?" Jack nodded, "Yup. Just us." Ray still didn't understand. "But-- how do you afford it?" "Jack's parents are rich. Like, super rich." I answered for him.
"Why is Connor living here, then?" Wow, this guy really had no social etiquette. Jack sighed and closed his eyes. "You see, it's a very long, sad story that I really don't feel like telling right now. And I'm sure Connie here wouldn't appreciate it much, either." At least Jack had some tact today. I knew that long, sad story. Connor was born in Korea to an abusive loan shark guy and a British woman who split when he turned five. From what I heard, Connor's dad was a pretty awful guy.
After his mom left, Connor's dad moved him to New Jersey, where all of us live now, and they became neighbors to Jack. For 9 years, Jack and Connor were neighbors and best friends until Connor turned 14 and his dad took him to live in Washington. 3 years ago, he ran away and started living with Jack. I still have no idea how Connor made it all the way here by himself, because he was too afraid to tell either me or Jack. Now he's 19 and Jack is 17. Apparently his dad is still looking for him, too. I really felt bad for the guy, and I understood why he didn't talk much.
"Did you check in with Jade and Jay? Jade came over this morning and said she was worried because you hadn't been home that night..." Connor said to me and Jack looked proud of him for saying more than one word. I nodded. "They know where I am now." I left out the part where Jay threw me around after he found out I had slept at the Ways' house and then proceeded to scream at Jade for doing nothing at all. I think he stormed out when I was in the bathroom changing. "Again-- who are Jay and Jade? And what's with the alliteration in their names?" Mikey spoke up. Connor turned to him, "Jay is Kara's brother and Jade is his... girlfriend." Jack gasped and stuck his finger in the air before marching out of the house.

(Jack's POV)
I briskly walked out of our house without an explanation and went over to Kara's house, knocking on the chipped blue door. I waited for a moment before Jade opened the door. I tried to ignore her puffy, red eyes. "Hiya, can you and Jay come over? We might watch movies and you and Connor can gossip about me in Korean." She smiled warmly at me. "Jay went to go stay with a friend tonight, but I'll come over. It sounds like fun, and I'd love to see Connor and Kara and whoever else you have over." I smiled back and nodded. "Yup, let's go."

(Connor's POV)
I was secretly kind of grateful when Jack and his friends woke me up because I'd been having nightmares and felt particularly lonely today. It was nice to have Kara over, too. I always liked seeing her. And now Jack had brought Jade here, who I secretly had a pretty big crush on. No, Connor. What are you thinking? She's dating Jay... And she doesn't talk to you very much anyway... I told myself. But still, I couldn't help it. She was always just so-- caring. And sweet. And she always looked like she was just as lonely as I am. I cleared my throat and tried not to focus on her sitting right next to me. "So... What do we want to watch?" "Well, what do you guys have?" The guy with the fire-engine red hair (I heard Kara call him Gee) responded and Jack got on all fours and crawled to the shoe-boxes next to the TV, proceeding to dump them on the floor and look through our vast collection of films. "Hm. Remember the Titans, Rise of the Guardians, Tangled, Winter's Bone, School of Rock, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World--" he listed. "Ooh! Can we please watch Scott Pilgrim?" Jade piped up next to me and I resisted the urge to look at her. Scott Pilgrim is my favorite movie of all time. She turned to me, "Is that okay with you?" She said in Korean. I looked around, wondering if she were talking to me. Of course she was! Who else here spoke Korean? "E-Eh yes, of course. Scott Pilgrim is my favorite move after all..." I responded, also in Korean. Jack looked at us suspiciously. "You know I was just kidding about that whole gossip thing, right?" he said and Jade giggled, not bothering to correct him. I was confused, but didn't say anything.
Jack shrugged. "Okay, Scott Pilgrim it is, then." He said and popped in the movie before plopping down on the couch between Kara and the short guy (I think his name is Frank).

"That movie-- is awesome." Ray, the guy with the fro, said with his eyes slightly glazed over. "Hey guys, who's your favorite character?" asked Gee. The tall boy on the floor responded first. "Mine's Todd. Or Scott, I can't decide." Frank shrugged. "Stephen Stills is fucking awesome." Ray and Gee nodded in agreement. "I think you guys just like the character that plays the same instrument as you." Kara said. "Well, that would make sense. Kim is Connor's favorite character, too." Jack piped up. Everyone looked at me with awe in their eyes. "You-- You play drums?!" Gee asked me. I nodded hesitantly. The guy looked like he wanted to kiss me. "WE NEED A DRUMMER OMFG." Jack stood up and yanked my arm to get me to stand next to him. "He's great, come watch!" Jack pulled me to the basement as everyone else followed close behind, eager for me to play for them.
Jack pushed my shoulders down, making me sit at my drum set. Gee looked at me expectantly and nodded frivolously. "Go on." He urged.
I reluctantly picked up my sticks and began to play All the Small Things by Blink 182 and tried not to look at all of them staring at me. Once I finished we all just kind of sat there in an awkward silence. "That-- was amazing." Mikey broke the silence. "Will you join our band, oh great one?" said Gee. I tried not to blush. "Of course he'll join your band!" Jack said mischievously. Okay, apparently I'm in a band now. And the girl that I... don't... love has seen me play the drums, the only thing I actually like to do aside from sleep. The look she was giving me made me uncomfortable. I really wish I hadn't done this...

Very distressed because no subscribers ugh is this even good *cries dramatically and eats chocolate before proceeding to write yet another chapter* Also I know that Bob eventually turns out to be their drummer man and he is awesome, he just lives in Chicago at the time of the story so the boys haven't met him yet.
