Party's POV
" nice hair," I said flicking checks red hair," not trying to copy someone are we?"
Check stuck her tougue out at me.
" ohhh we got a sassy one over here!" Jet said fanning towards check. But it could've ment either of us because she was sitting on my lap. We didnt have e nought room for five people so she had to sit on me.
" no one shall out sass me!" I said matter-o-factly in my sassy voice. Kobra rolled his eyes.
" I dyed my hair red because it matched my name, duh, gee," she put in that last bit just to make me mad. I really don't like my nickname ghoul gave me before I got my killjoy name. I felt my ears go hot. Check threw her head back laughing at my reaction.
" bitch," I muttered under my breath.
I turned towards ghoul who was driving, " how much longer?" I said
" a few hours," he nodded. It was already late so everybody was tired. I was going to catch a few Zs but decided against It in case ghouls starts to nod off. After another hour or so everyone was asleep except me and ghoul.
Check had her head nuzzled against my chest. It was cute. Whoa! WTF? This is ghouls baby sister we are talking about. I can't think that. I looked down at her again. She had a button nose. Her eyes were hazel like ghouls I knew that although I couldn't see them. She looked quiet and innocent asleep like this not plagued with bags under her eyes or with battle scars like most killjoys. She looked flawless. The way her skin glimmered in the moon light. I noticed how she was sitting in my arms rather in my lap. Her black fingernails were around my neck and waist. And my hands were wrapped around her body like we were cuddling.
" Gerard stop," ghouls whispered sternly. Fuck he noticed me looking at check. He must be pretty mad to because he doesn't ever use my first name at least my full one.
" what?" I looked over at him. His eyebrows were scrunched and he was frowning.
" I know that look. Don't you even think it. That is my sister. You can't fuck her,"
" whoa, whoa, whoa who said anything about fucking?" Detached my arms from the sleeping girl the raise them up defensively.
" just don't. I know you," he growled. I knew it was the end of the conversation. I didn't know where to put my arms because I knew ghoul was watching me so I just lit a cigaret. I was careful to not spill ant ashes on check.
" here," ghoul said slowing to a stop in front of the abandoned diner that we use as our home base. Just for us. I loved this place.
As the guys stared to wake up we decided not to wake up check. I carried her into my room since hers was not ready yet. I set her gently on my bed. I took off her shoes. Then her jacket. I slid her under the sheets. I noticed some scars on her arm. Oh no. Please no... But they were. Nothing fresh they were there. Ill talk to her about it tomorrow.
I then took off my shoes pants shirt until I was just in my boxers. I walked out to the 'kitchen' that we converted into a living room. I laid down on the cheap couch.
Tomorrow we have to raid a hospital in battery city then a few grocery stores and clothing stores, then delivery everything to the bases. We do this monthly. It will be check first real mission thingy. I remember they way she looked asleep on my chest. It's so wrong to even think about her like that. She is six years younger than me. It's like a teacher liking a student. But not really. I mean I'm my own person. She is her own person. Ghoul doesn't rule my life... But she won't like me. Especially after I talk to her about her cuts tomorrow. Fuck she will hate me after I talk to her about it. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. So where in the mist of cursing at myself I fell asleep into a awful nightmare.
