Fifty Shades of Way

Secrets

****The next day****

***Gerard's POV***

I stared at the clock, waiting for lunch to begin. I needed to talk to Ivy, and explain everything. She deserves to know. I began packing up my bag as the last of my students handed in their tests. As lunch got closer, time seemed to be moving slower. Finally the bell rang, and I was the first out of the room. I knew exactly where Ivy would be. I dropped my bag, and papers in the faculty office, and made my way outside of the girl's bathroom nearest to the cafeteria. As I stood outside the bathroom, I began to hear faint sobs coming from inside. I stood for a moment, not knowing what to do. Should I go inside? I mean, I am a teacher. It's my job to make sure all the students are safe. After a while of contemplation, I came to terms with myself, and walked into the bathroom. As I walked in, the sobs got louder, and the voice connected to the sobs became more recognizable.

"Ivy? Is that you? A-Are you okay?" my voice filled with concern

The cries stopped. I looked under the stall to my right, and saw a pair of pink converse. Definitely Ivy.

"Ivy, I know you're in there. Please come out. I need to talk to you. It's important." I lightly knocked on the stall. Still nothing. I started to get worried, and knocked a little louder.

"Ivy, open up. Open up, now." my voice grew stern.

"Go away." she whispered

"No. We need to talk. Ivy, please just open up."

"No. Go away."

"Ivy, open up, or I'm coming in."

"Fuck you." she mumbled. I don't think she meant for me to hear that, but hearing her say that felt as if I was being stabbed multiple times in the heart. After a few long seconds, she unlocked the door, revealing her tear stained eyes.

"What happened to you?" I whispered

"Nothing. It doesn't matter. What do you want to talk about?" she kept staring at the floor. I sighed, and put my thumb under her chin, and lifted her head up, forcing her to look at me.

"First I want you to tell me what's wrong."

"I don't need to tell you anything." she spat.

"Ivy, please. I want to help you, not hurt you. I know I've been a bit harsh on you lately, and I apologize. If I did anything to hurt you, it was not my intention. Please, just let me help you." I looked at her with pleading eyes. She shook her head.

"I need to go." she tried running past me, but I grabbed her wrist. That's when I noticed she had cut herself. She looked at me with horrified eyes, before bursting into tears. I quickly wrapped my arms around her, as she cried onto my shoulder.

"Ivy, tell me what's wrong." I whispered as she began to calm down. She once again shook her head.

"Please, just leave me alone." she begged. Tears streaming down her face. I sighed, and let go of her. I began walking out the door, until I heard Ivy call my name.

"Wait." she said, barley over a whisper.

"Yes?"

"D-Do you think, maybe, I could, uhm, stay after school with you today?" she looked up at me with pleading eyes. My eyes widened at her unexpected question. I stared into her hazel eyes, and nodded, before walking out the door, and proceeding with the rest of the day.
