Fifty Shades of Way

***Ivy's POV***

I let out a sigh as I walked out of the bathroom. The thought of being pregnant loomed over me ever since last week, when Gerard had forgotten to put on a condom. That thought has now been freed from my mind due to the pregnancy test I had just taken, giving me the result that I've been waiting for.

I made my way into the living room where Gerard was nervously tapping his foot, and biting his nails. His head immediately shot up once I entered the room.

"Ivy, before you say anything, I just want you to know that I love you so much, and if you are, you know- pregnant, I promise you, I'll be there for you through every second of it."

I walked over to the couch and sat next to him. He took my hand in his and squeezed it. His hand was shaking, and I could tell that every second of not knowing the answer was driving him insane.

"Honey, please say something." Nervousness clear in his voice. I ran my fingers through his hair, and rested my forehead on his.

"Negative." I whispered. A look of relief washed over his face, and he embraced me in a loving hug.

"Oh, thank god." He sighed "You know it's not that I don't want kids, it's just that, you know, we don't have the money right now, and we wouldn't have been able to provide much. It would have just been a disaster.."

"Yeah, I know. Eventually it'll happen. When we're ready." I smiled. He kissed my forehead, and rested his head on mine. We stayed like this for a while until he cupped my cheek in his hand and brought his gaze to meet mine.

"Can I ask you something?" He asked

"Yeah, what is it?" He put his hand in his jeans pocket, and pulled out a small black, velvet box. He held it out in front of me, and opened it, revealing a small silver ring .

"It's a promise ring." He said. "I don't think either of us are ready for marriage yet, but I want you to know that I have full intention of making you my wife one day. So until then, Ivy, will you accept this ring?"

I smiled widely at him, and held my hand out for him to slip the ring on my finger.

"Beautiful." He whispered

"It is beautiful." I smiled, admiring how the ring shimmered in the light. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into his chest.

"I wasn't talking about the ring, although it is beautiful- I was actually talking about the woman wearing it."

I blushed a dark shade of red and kissed his cheek. "You're such a charmer."

"I save all my charm for you." He winked.

We sat in silence for a few moments before it was time for Gerard to leave for a job interview at a high school a few towns away from Riverdell. I curled myself in a blanket, and watched tv as I waited for him to get home. The new ring on my finger met my glance every so often, and I couldn't help but smile each time it came into my view.

One day, this ring will be replaced with something much greater, and I can't wait.

So sorry this chapter is short and kinda sucks. It's a pain in the ass to write this on my phone so I kept it a bit short and simple.
