Fifty Shades of Way

***Gerard's POV***

She dragged me to her car by my shirt sleeve. I dragged my feet, and held my head low. Once we got to the car, she let go of my sleeve, and practically skipped to the drivers side. I sighed, and opened my door, sinking down into the passenger's seat. I had no interest what so ever in going to the music store. But if it makes Ivy happy, I'll go.

"Common, Gee. Turn the frown upside down." she said, squeezing my cheeks, and pulling them upward to look like a smile. I glared at her, before taking her hand off my cheek, and placing it back on the steering wheel. She sighed, and looked at me with sorrowful eyes. "What can I do to make you smile?" she frowned.

"Bring my grandma back." I said barley over a whisper. My lip started quivering, and I could feel myself tearing up, so I placed my head in between my knees.

"Gee I would if I could, but that's impossible." she sighed. "I know this doesn't really compare to your situation but, uhm, you know, when my dad forced me to flush my goldfish down the toilet, I-I was pretty upset too. I think I cried for the entire day, trying to somehow unflush it." I looked at her, and couldn't help but giggle. She looked over at me, and smiled, before pulling into the parking lot of the store. "Okay, you pick out as many CD's as you want. I'll pay for them " she stated, taking out her wallet.

"Ivy, no, please. You don't need to pay for anything."

"Gerard, after all you've been through today, the least I can do is buy you some music."

"But that's not all your doing. You made me a sandwich, brought me here, and you're staying with me all day tomorrow. Don't spend money on me."

"Honey, may I remind you all the things you've done for me? Common, let's be reasonable. Now go pick out CD's."

"Ivy, I'm not letting yo-"

"Don't argue with me. Please. Just go pick out what you want. "

"Are you sur-"

"Yes!" she laughed, and grabbed my hand, pulling me towards the racks of countless CD's. I gave in, and browsed through the Metallica CD's, until I noticed she still hadn't let go of my hand. I looked down at our interlocked fingers, and smiled, giving her small hand a light squeeze.

"I don't know what I want." I groaned. "I have all these already."

"There must be something you don't have." she hip bumped me. I sighed and kept looking. We walked around some more, still hand in hand. "How about this?" she said, handing me a Bowie album. I took it from her hand, and studied it. It didn't look like something I owned, which is surprising, since I love his music. "Is this the one you want?" she smiled

"Well, it depends on how much it is. You're not spending more than $10 on me."

"I'm spending as much as I want on you." I rolled my eyes, and looked at the price sticker. $7.99. I smiled and handed the CD to her.

"Okay. We're done."

"Gee, that's all you want?"

"Yeah, I don't need a lot. Besides, I'm kinda tired." I sighed

"Well, okay." we walked to the register, still holding hands. I gave her another light squeeze as she paid.

"See, now was that so bad?" she said, using a baby voice as we walked out of the store.

"That is the first, and last time you'll ever pay for me."

"Yeah, okay." she rolled her eyes. I lightly hit her with the bag that held the CD. She giggled, letting go of my hand to get into the drivers seat. I sighed, and walked around the car, into the passenger's seat.

"So are you feeling better?" she said, starting the car.

"Well, I'm better than I was this morning. But I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm 'okay'." I sighed

"You just need time, that's all. And I'll be here with you until you can say you're 'okay'."
