I'll Go Down with My Friends
Chapter 1
I walk into the hall of my new school. It's not very big, but not small either. I get my class schedule and read over it. So since its the first day I guess everyone has to have a meet and greet, sounds fun. I enter the gym and see a bunch of groups of people I'm assuming know each other. I look around and don't see very many people who stand out, except a guy with an Iron Maiden shirt. He has black hair and pale skin, he looks very attractive. I stand to the side just watching everyone socialize when the kid in the Iron Maiden shirt approaches me.
"Hi, I'm Gerard."
"Hi Gerard. I'm, uh, Jaimie," I say awkwardly.
He laughs and points over to a group of guys, who are watching us.
"You look cool, wanna hang out with us?"
He thinks I look cool? He actually wants me to hang out with him? Wow, I love this place already.
"Sure," I say trying to hide my excitement, but I can't help but to grin.
"Hey guys! This is Jaimie, Jaimie, this is Ray, Frank, and Mikey."
"Hi," I say giving a little wave.
"So, how old are you Jaimie?" Ray asks.
"I'm 16," I reply.
"Really, so am I," says Frank.
"Yeah, me too," Mikey says shyly.
"Soo.." Gerard says, since there's a pretty awkward silence between us. I can't help but stare at Gerard for a minute, before looking away and catching Frank staring at me. I have to admit, Frank is pretty cute.
"So I see you like the Misfits," Frank says motioning towards my shirt.
"Yeah,"
"Us too," Gerard smiles. He has a beautiful face.
"Ahem," Frank clears his throat, snapping me out of my trance, giving me this weird scolding look.
"So we're hanging out later today at my house, wanna come over?" Gerard asks looking at me, I see he has hazel eyes.
"Sure, sounds great,"
"Cool, we'll meet you outside after school. We only have a half day today so we'll have more time," he says.
After school I walk outside and see my new friends waiting outside in the grass.
"You guys look bored," I comment walking up to them.
"Oh good, lets go," Ray says getting up, followed by everyone else.
We walk to Gerard's house, which turns out to be on the same block as mine, and it turns out Frank lives right next to me, and Ray lives on the next block.
"So you guys wanna play tag or something?" Gerard suggests.
I give him a 'the fuck?' look.
"Just kidding," he laughed, "we play hide and seek,"
"Really?" I ask.
"Yeah, wanna play?" Mikey asks, I can't tell if he's serious or not cause he's had the same facial expression almost all day.
"Um,"
"Of course she does! She'll be my hiding buddy," Frank interrupts, while linking our arms together.
"Mikey counts, go!" Gerard said as everyone but Mikey ran in different directions.
Frank drags me down into the basement, which looks like it's a bedroom.
"Why are we down here?" I say quietly.
"We're hiding," he replies, pulling me over into a closet, closing the door behind him.
I can't help but feel uncomfortable hiding in a dark closet with a guy I just met. I hear him breathing close to me, so I'm assuming this closet is pretty small. I feel a cold hand on my bare back and jump away.
"Frank!"
"Sorry," he whispers innocently, which sounds really cute.
He's never gonna find us down here, I think.
"Frank it's been almost 7 minutes," I complain.
Just as I think he's about to say something we hear the basement door open. I hold my breath, even though I'm kinda hoping we get found. He walks around for a minute before opening the closet door. I notice Frank sitting closer to me than I thought, Mikey notices and turns around and goes back to looking for someone else.
"Let's go," I say getting up, Frank follows and we head back upstairs, where I see both Ray and Gerard. "Where's Mikey?" I ask.
"Gerard points over to the living room where I look and see Mikey sitting on the couch, looking really awkward. I go over and sit next to him.
"Hi Mikey," I say, surprisingly not as shy as usual.
"Hi," he says looking down at his hands on his lap.
Everyone soon follows and we end up watching a movie.
By time it's over it's getting dark out so I decide to head home.
"Oh I'll come with you," Frank says jumping off the couch.
"See ya guys tomorrow," "Bye," Frank and I say walking out the door.
It only take a minute and Frank and I talk a little on the way to my house.
"Bye Frank, see ya tomorrow," I wave, walking into my house. The last thing I see before closing the door is Frank smiling and waving to me.
