(Gerard's pov)

I ran out of the kitchen. Did I really say that she has a beautiful smile? Where did that come from? And of course I said I was going to the toilet, really? Couldn’t you make a better excuse? ‘I am going to clean your shirt.’ That would have been perfect. Why didn’t I say that? But no… I said I was going to the toilet, oldest excuse ever, I’m stupid. Speaking about cleaning her shirt, I better do it.

I went to my room and saw her shirt on my bed. I picked it up. It smelled so good… just like her. Gerard! I looked the sleeves of her shirt bathed in blood. How can she even bear the pain? When I was cleaning her skin, I saw all of her scars. Some were very old, another new, but there were a lot. Is her life that bad?

I washed her shirt, dried it and left it on the chair of my room. I looked for Cassie and find her in the living room. She was sitting on the sofa watching I don’t know what on TV. I sat next to her and she moved aside. I didn’t know why, but that hurt me. “I washed your shirt.” I said to break the silence. “Sorry.” She whispered looking to the floor. “Cassie… what happened last night?” I asked. I really wanted to know why more scars, why she came to sleep on my porch and mostly what Dean did to her. But she didn’t say anything, she just kept looking down to the floor. I could see a tear rolling down her pretty face… What the fuck Gerard?! She is your student!

I realized she didn’t want to tell me. I should have knew it. I mean, I’m his teacher, and she doesn’t know me, if I were her I wouldn’t say anything. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked that.” She looked at me and whispered a “Don’t worry.” Then she turned back to see the TV.

About ten minutes later I heard her say something. “He fell asleep, I decided to escape and I couldn’t find a better place than your… erm… Mikey’s house.” Mikey’s house, she was here for Mikey, he’s the one that is her friend, not me. But anyway, what she said didn’t explain her new… well you know what. I was scared to ask her about that but I was very worried, I needed to know what that motherfucker did to Cassie. “Did Dean hurt you?” I said it. No chance to go back. “He.. ab… abuse-” “Okay, shh, you don’t have to say it if you don’t want to.” I think she smiled.

“I’m hungry, do you want me to order a pizza?” I asked her and she nodded. An hour later we were sitting on the sofa eating pizza and watching Nightmare Before Christmas. Suddenly I dropped the piece of pizza I was eating and it fell to my jeans. “No! My new jeans!” I said, don’t know why but I said it with a girly voice and Cassie giggled. Hearing her laughing made me smile. Luckily my jeans weren’t dirty.

“I am tired.” She said when the movie finished. I couldn’t know how she could be tired. I think she slept all morning while she should have been at school. Anyway she followed me to my room. “You can sleep here, I would sleep in Mikey’s room.” I said to her. She nodded and I went to pick some of my pyjamas from the closet. I gave her one, picked another one for me and went to Mikey’s room.

I sat on Mikey’s bed. All the house was in complete silence now. I searched for my ipod to listen some music when I heard sobbings. I walked to my room and saw Cassie crying asleep. I lay next to her and stroke her. “Shh, it’s okay.” I tried to calm her down and she placed her head on my chest, she was still sleeping, otherwise she wouldn’t have done that. She had been trying to avoid contact all day. I don’t know exactly when, but I felt asleep with her between my arms.
