(Gerard's pov)

*One week later*

I was waiting outside Cassie’s room with Mikey and Frank. She has been in rehabilitation for one week. The nurses told us that if they didn’t see anything wrong she can come back home today.

I remember one week ago when she woke up. At first time, I didn’t believe it. I thought it was one of my dreams when I dreamt of her waking up. But she really woke up that time. I couldn’t express my happiness in that moment, I have been waiting a long time for that and it happened.

The first thing she said when I realized I wasn’t dreaming, was a question, she asked how did she get there. It was very difficult for me explaining her that she tried to kill herself.But I did it. I explained her why she ran away and that I fell with her trying to save her. When I finish explaining her all that, she muttered that now she remembered it and began to cry saying that she was sorry, that she should have listened to me before jumping, that I didn’t deserve what I have gone through when she was in coma, she said that without knowing about… me trying to hang myself. I didn’t tell her about it yet, I don’t want her to get worried. So in that moment when she told me that, I just hugged her and said that everything was okay.

“Mr. Way.” A nurse called me. “Yes?” I said standing up wishing for good news. “We have been doing several tests to Cassie and based on the result, she is ready to go back to her house.” Hell yeah!

I walked inside the room leaving Mikey and Frank outside. Cassie was there, sitting on the bed already dressed in her clothes. “Ready to go baby?” I asked her. She nodded and stood up. I smiled and we went out of the room holding hands.

“How are you feeling?” Frank asked to Cassie as we came near him. “I’m alright and very happy.” Cassie answered smiling. Mikey came near her and hugged her. “I’m glad you are back.” He said and Cassie smiled.

When we arrived home, Cassie went to the kitchen to make herself a sandwich. I insisted on preparing it, but she didn’t let me. So I went to sat on the sofa and wait for her.

“Gerard! I’m going to see Esther! I don’t know where I’m going to come back, so if you are planning on doing something, don’t wait for me!” Frank said and went out of the house. “I’m going to be out today too.” Mikey said and tried to walk outside but I stopped him. “Where are you going?” I asked. “I’m… I’m… going to Alice’s house with Kindle, Ruby Lee and Jazmin.” He said. That didn’t sound true. “Really? So if I want something from you, I can call to anyone of them.” I said. “NO!” He yelled scared. “Where are you going and with who are you going?” I asked. “Gerard, I don’t care if you are my older brother, you don’t have to be controlling me all the time!” He said and went outside of the house. I wonder where he is going, maybe he has a girlfriend now and he doesn't want to tell it to me.

I stayed there and taking advantage that Cassie wasn’t with me, I uncovered my neck and stroke the marks the rope left on it, the marks my stupidity left on it. Suddenly I heard something falling down to the floor, I turned back to see a broken plate on the floor next to a sandwich. Fuck no. I looked up and saw Cassie with a horrified look.

“Please, tell me that marks on your neck aren’t of what I’m thinking of.” She said with a sad and scared look. “How… how do you think… that marks… got there?” I asked scared. He walked near me and started crying while hugging me. “Why, Gerard? Why did you do that?” She asked between sobs. “The… nurses told me that… that they weren't sure if you were going… going to wake up and I… I just wanted to be with you.”
