Vampires Will Never Hurt You

Chase texts the guys (because apparently vampires own cell phones) and they all get here in just a few minutes. Gerard looks royally pissed, as predicted. Mikey seems generally relieved, and Frank is expressionless. Its hard to explain what happened next but the feeling of fear and disapproval just washed over me, but that wasn't what I was feeling. It came from Frank. Maybe this was what they were talking about when the boys said I would have some kind of "power" Could I tell people's emotions?
Chase was telling the boys how we had met. After he had finished, Gerard stares at me. "You smell like a human" he growls, stepping closer to me. "Maybe because its because I was one a few days ago." I answer. "No its someone else. Who?" I open my mouth to answer but Frank beats me to it. "Its that boy she was with when we found her" Gerard's nostrils flare. "Boyfriend?" Mikey asks. I shake my head. "No just a friend" That weird feeling washes over me again only this time its relief and its coming from Mikey. "Did you tell him?" Gerard asks, getting angrier and angrier. Holy shit, I'm going to die. "Y-yes" I say in a small voice. Before I can comprehend what had happened Gerard has me pinned up against a wall, his hand around my throat, screaming at me. "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM? WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO HELP YOU AND YOU KEEP PUSHING US AWAY! NOW WE'RE ALL IN DANGER BECAUSE OF YOU! WHY?" Gerard's hand tightens around my throat and I can feel myself starting to suffocate. I close my eyes waiting for death when someone pulls Gerard off of me. Someone grabs my had a pulls me out of the room and up the stairs. When I open my eyes I am sitting on my bed in my room and Mikey is closing the door. Tears begin to creep down my face. Mikey walks over and sits down hugging me. "Honey, I'm sorry. Its going to be okay" He says soothingly. "He was going to kill me" I whisper. "No he wasn't. I mean if we hadn't stopped him, he probably would have, but we wouldn't have let that happen" I cough and look up at him. "Why not?" I ask. "Well I don't know about Chase and Frank, but I actually care about you, alot." he smiles. Wow someone who actually cares about me. This is different. I smile and lay my head on his chest. No heart beat. Just like me. "Thank you" I whisper. He's happy, I can feel it. I'm happy too. Just the two of us. Its nice. And Mikey so sweet. I think... that I might like him. Our moment was ruined by a knock on the door. Mikey lets go of me quickly, clearly embarrassed. I'm sure if he could blush he would. "Come in" he calls. The door opens and Frank and Chase walk in followed by Gerard. They stand in front of me. "I'm sorry about what happened out there." Gerard says "I have anger issues and can get very violent when something pisses me off. I want you to know that I would never hurt you." I stand. "I'm sorry too guys. I shouldn't have left or gone to Ray. I almost bit him" "Well good thing you didn't" Frank says. "So" Chase exclaims "Everyone accepts the apologies?" Everyone nods. Mikey smiles. "Good" he stands and hugs me. Everyone joins in. "Welcome to the family"
