Shoot From the Hip, Aim For the Head

Welcome to Vegas, Power Rangers!

“Leave it to you, to break the fucking car! This is why I drive.” Party was still tired from the drive last night. He got us up to the first gate, and a few miles in before he called it quits for the night, so Kobra offered to drive today. Well something blew, and the amazing Trans Am that had gotten us through thick and thin, had called it.

As Kobra and Party fought at the hood of the car, over whose fault it was. I sat on the trunk with Jet-Star staring at the mass ocean of sand behind us. “Maybe if you two girls keep screaming at each other, someone will find us.” Jet said, rolling his eyes.

“You really think so?” Leave it to Kobra to set off a group face palm. Can he really be that stupid at times?

Our attention was quickly taken off of Kobra and set on the sound of a gun being loaded ready to fire. “State your business, Power Rangers. You’re on my terf now.” The cold voice was followed by the sound of someone spitting, Party and Kobra turned around to face the barrel of a shotgun aimed straight at Party’s head.

“Power Rangers…? Um, we’re here for the New Vegas project thing, Dr. Death-Defying sent us.” Party spoke up, going cross-eyed looking at the barrel of the gun, as Jet and I slowly walked around the broken down Trans Am.

“Oh, home landers, from the Doctor. Sorry, don’t get many people on our side sent down this way. And yes, Power Rangers. I mean look at you.” The shotgun was lowered to reveal the woman from the picture, Revolver. “How’s he holding up? Didn’t get to see him last time he was here, and word got to us he was paralyzed for a while.”

“He’s fine, some Dracs got the better side of us, and well…things backfired.”

“Cool, well…I’m Revolver, and my Caty is over here.” She pointed at the horizon to a black smudge against a group of rocks. “We’ll get someone to come pick this up for you. They shouldn’t mess with it too much.” She turned away, from us, swinging the gun over her shoulder, walking back to her Cadillac. “You boy’s coming? Be a shame if you can’t even make it to camp.”

We slowly followed her back to the black truck. “What’s with the three’s?” I asked as we got closer. Opening up the back doors, as she climbed into the driver’s seat, Kobra taking shotgun like always.

“Shotgun, huh? Here, keep an eye out.” Revolver handed the black tactical shotgun over to Kobra, who was hesitant to actually hold it. “And about the three’s, ever seen the movie Zombieland? Well that’s what it’s for. One of my favorite movies and it helps when you have to kill your best friend to just think they’re a brainless zombie.” That was followed by an uncomfortable silence. “Anyways, you boys better get comfortable, gonna be a long ride. And you can relax. I was joking about the shotgun thing. Nothing besides graves in this area.” Kobra nodded before sliding the shotgun down between his legs, so the nozzle sat against the floor of the car.

Jet switched to sit in the way back while Party remained in the middle. His arms were thrown over the back of the seats. Eventually I managed to fall back asleep, not really paying attention to my head rolling to the side to rest on Party’s shoulder. I did notice when he started playing with my hair though. Nothing but a blissful sleep, no dreams, no names, not a sound to be heard. Just the feeling of Party next to me, not a worry in the world.

~/~/~/~/~

It only felt like I was out for a few minutes before I was tapped on the shoulder by Revolver. She was saying something to me, which I couldn’t quite make out while half asleep, still, and giggled afterward. I woke up Party, and we headed out finding ourselves just outside the camp.

“Well? What you boys think? Pretty cool, if I do say so myself.” Revolver said, opening her arms slightly as she spoke, turning to face us with a proud smile. “As Kobra here told me, you guys are looking for Saw. He’s not going to be back till tomorrow. However, I can get you four set up in some rooms.” We all nodded our thanks, and she turned off to one of the hotels. Kobra stood there with a smirk plastered on his face.

“Now what? Whenever you get that look, you’ve got something weird going on.” Party said, arching an eyebrow as he eyed his brother wearily. When Kobra knew something no one else did, or had some deranged plan going on in his head. He had a habit of keeping it secret and playing it out as long as he could without anyone finding out.

“Nothing, really. It’s just something Revolver said when you two ‘lovebirds’ were all curled up together on the way here.” Kobra pointed at Party and me as he spoke. Making a kissy face as he said lovebirds.

“Really Mikey? You have the maturity level of one of our old fan girls, I swear.” Party said, rolling his eyes as he walked past Kobra over to Revolver who was waving us over.

“What happened to not using our real names!?”

“You had that coming buddy.” Jet said as he grabbed Kobra’s arm dragging him with us. I did my best to keep the blushing at a minimum as I walked behind them. I don’t know what they were talking about when we were asleep. Jet-Star has pointed out that I occasionally do talk in my sleep, but I wasn’t even dreaming. Not like I would announce my love for Party, if I wasn’t even dreaming about him.

“Alright, I could only get you guy’s two rooms, sorry. One of which, only has a queen size bed in it. So two of you are going to have to share.” Revolver said as we walked into the old hotel. The name has been long sense torn down, but the hotel itself seemed to be in a lively condition. Well kept, and nicely treated through the odd number of years raging a deadly war. “Take you four up to your rooms, and then I can give you all a tour. Think dinner will be set soon after that, so yeah…tour, eating and meeting everyone, and then bed I guess.”

We all nodded, before Revolver lead us over to the elevators. It was a relatively quiet trip up to our rooms on the 4th floor. The hallways were dimly light but it was nicely set. “Who’s sleeping with whom? And which room?” I finally said as we reached our rooms.

“Jet gets Kobra.” Party spoke up, looking at the two doors on either side of a thick column. “As for rooms…random pick?”

“Guess we can do that. Jet, which room is ours?” Kobra said elbowing Jet to choose one of the two room doors.

“Why does Jet get to pick? Why not me or Ghoul.” Party had a bit of whine in his voice, which made Revolver giggle. Almost forgot she was still there, leaning against the wall a bit down the hallway. Just standing there, letting us bicker.

I sighed, “Just let Jet choose, you stuck him with Kobra anyways. He should at least be able to choose the room he’s trapped in.” Party nodded at that along with Kobra, who didn’t seem to pick up on the insult.

What luck we had though. Jet managed to choose the room with two beds, which left Party and I sleeping together. Not that was complaining anyway, quite the contrary actually. Closer I was to Party the happier I was. This was a good thing, but it would come with awkward moments no doubt.

Revolver introduced herself more properly when we met back up down in the lobby of the hotel. She told us that Saw and Shepherd (their main leader) don’t always use the Killjoy names, more as just nicknames if anything. Revolver’s actual name is Katie, she’s twenty-seven. As she showed us around the hotel, which had gone through some major changes sense it was and actually hotel, she told us a bit about her and the war. Transferred over when she was nineteen, been working the ‘gunslinger’ shift sense Saw noted that she was “the gun that won the old wild west.” Getting her the nickname, Revolver.

We walked down the Strip to the edge from under the light display canopy. That’s when our nightmares became reality. A low glow from dying fires lit up the desert, revealing weaponry and death. Nothing but black shadows, slight lumps out in the desert. The figures were undeniably human though. It was all real; all of the warfare was real.

“It’s scary out there. You never know who to actually trust once you get onto the battle field.” Katie wasn’t really talking to us as much as she was just talking. “It’s another world on their Strip. I was on it once to get Dawn back…The assassins we have here, the SWAT team, they’ve witnessed it. Shepherd, Saw, Skratch, Lucy, they were all part of it. They lived through what we fight. They were the enemy.” She finished with a sigh before turning, giving us a lazy grin before walking back. No one really talked after that. It was just a quiet walk back to the hotel’s dining area. There we were introduced to Ty, Hallow otherwise known as Dawn, and Z-A or just Z.

Dawn was rather quiet through our meet and greet. He didn’t look like the happy guy in the photo Doc showed us only days ago. One thing that kept my attention though, was that he was missing his ring fingers. I couldn’t help but stare, even though I knew it was probably making him uncomfortable.

“This is what happens when you try to be a hero. One of the things they will do…Skratch.” Everyone turned to look, except me. I was still hooked on the state of his hands. What happens when you are the hero? What are they doing over there exactly?

My attention shifted when I was set faced to face with a man that only just looked human. He was human, but under his bottom eyelids was slit across, then straight down to his jaw line. His eyes were glassy, and seemed to lack any color besides a smudge of black that were his pupils. His skin looked to be too loose for his body, but what was strange was everything felt dead now.

“Frank Iero…should keep your head set straight. Might get hurt out here. Curiosity killed the cat after all. Dawn, you’ve gotta be fed, let’s go.” Without another word he was leaving. That’s when I noticed his dark purple and blue hair, the safety pins he was using as piercings, and the few tattoos he had down his arms and on his shoulder.

“How’d he know who I was?”

“They know who everyone is. How they work, what they were programed to do.” Z answered, taking a bite out of his sandwich as he finished his sentence.

“More importantly, what did he mean by Dawn needs to be ‘fed’? Can’t he just eat like the rest of us?” Kobra said gesture to the half-filled room of eating Killjoys.

“That’s a private matter that hopefully none of you guys will ever have to go through. If you ask nicely, Dawn might tell you.”

“Don’t even ask. Dawn doesn’t like talking about what happened to him out there, no one does. It’s only fair to leave him alone about it. If he wants to talk, he can talk. Until then, should just respect his choice not to. Alright?” Ty added to Z’s comment. She seemed real defensive over the whole ordeal, don’t really blame her though. If what they do out there involves decapitation of body parts. I’d probably want to keep the story to myself too.

“Can you at least tell us, what this whole thing is over? What’s actually going on? We are only told some short stories about the battles, but never of what’s actually going on.” Party said looking at the three remaining Killjoys.

Katie sighed before looking at her hands folded on her lap, “There’s this guy, Zephyr, and he’s creating a new world basically. New machines, weapons, animals, even people. He’s been working on this long before Better Living, actually. His drugs are way stronger than anything put out by Better Living too.”

“He does everything old fashioned though. The way he gets information, he won’t drug you; he has other means to get you to talk.” Ty added leaning her chair back playing with her bangs.

“Once he’s got what he wants…he’ll do things to you. Send you to New Vegas, and that’s it. Only hope for you getting out of that alive is Shepherd finding you. Chances of that are a million to one though. Be happy you boys are working around camp.” Z said going to throw his garbage away. That was the end of that.

~/~/~/~/~

“Ghoul you alright? Been pretty mellow sense dinner.” Party was already getting set for bed; I just stood at our window, looking at the Killjoys getting ready for shift change.

“Yeah, I’m fine, it’s just…this is so surreal I guess. Like, how can any of this be real? Yet, there’s no way you can say it isn’t.” I sighed walking over to the bed, sitting down on the edge where Party tapped for me to sit.

Party put one of his legs on either side of me. Pulling my jacket off tossing it to the floor, he tugged at the hem of my shirt. I pulled it off, trying to control the slight blush that was starting to show. Party rested his head on my shoulder, lightly running his hands up and down my bare sides, every so often running his fingers over my chest.

“If you want, I can give you a massage. Just lay down on your stomach, I’ll be right back.” Party said, kissing my neck as he stood up walking into the bathroom. I brought my hand up to where Party had kissed it. If only he knew, if only he could understand the feelings he causes to rush through my body.

I rolled over onto my stomach when Party came back into the room, a bottle of lotion in one hand, and a devilish smirk planted on his face. I felt the bottle bounce on the bed next to me, before it dipped from Party’s weight.

“Mind me sitting here?” He teased as he sat on my ass.

“No, as long as you promise to fuck it later.” Party laughed, grabbing the bottle from next to me. He squirted some on his hand, rubbing his hands together before starting to work on my shoulders. I couldn’t help but nuzzle my face into the pillow under me, muffling a few moans as Party worked out the knots. “Mmm…right there Party… right fucking there.”

“Hm, right here? Just like this?” Party pushed into my upper back making the muscles loosen up, and my back cave against the pressure.

“Aww yeah…right there…” Party just giggled at me. May not be sex, but it felt damn good, and god knows I need this. “Right there baby…” Party pushed hard into my back, making my shoulders square out and me moan.

“What did you just call me? Did you just call me ‘baby’?” I choked, I didn’t mean too. It just kind of slipped. Party wasn’t mad, could tell because he was laughing, but still. “Well? Did you?”

I mumbled into the pillow. Party’s massage felt too good, I didn’t really want to talk, and I didn’t want him to stop. I eventually did mutter up a ‘mhmm’ with a slight nod, before rolling my face back into the pillow.

“What I thought.” Party said giggling, over my response.

Party started to work his way down lower on my back, working some of the muscles, and occasionally running his hands up my sides then back down. It felt good, great even, but the lower Party got, the more sensitive my back was, and the louder my moans were getting. Mixture of pain and pleasure, could swear I sounded like a three dollar whore.

I didn’t have time to think before Party was pressing down where one of Korse’s Dracs had nailed me with a bat. “Aw, fuck! Gerard! That hurts, ease up! Fuck!” With that, I was rolled over onto my back. I didn’t know whether Party was mad or not that I called him Gerard. I didn’t mean too, I really didn’t mean too this time. The bruise may not be there anymore, but it still fucking hurt. “Party, I…I didn’t mean too. I…it just slipped…I’m sorry.”

“No. Just…say it again. Please.” Party lay down on top of me, covering my smaller frame with his. His head resting on my collar bone. I did as he asked though, at first just whispering his name, but soon getting a bit louder as he edged me on to repeat. I could hear him moaning against my chest, kissing me softly. When simple soft kisses, turned into a bite on my neck, I couldn’t help but buck my hips up against his. I managed to moan out his name one last time before Gerard’s lips were on mine.

As simple as all this had happened, “Look Alive Sunshine! We’ve got stuff to get done! Wake up Ghoul!” was as simple as it ended by the sweet voice of a wide awake, coffee happy Party Poison.

I can't believe no one has commented on this!

I for one, like it.

It's unique... Interesting...

And you bring a ton of MCR references into it, like the SING music video, and you had the lyrics to one of there songs a couple chapters back... I can't remember either, but it keeps me interested.

You constantly describe things well, and make new and exciting things happen. Plus, the chappys are nice and long.

This is without a doubt, great.

Though if you could seperate the text into paragrapghs, i'd appreciate it!
