Chapter 7
What the fuck was that supposed to be? There's a fucking blue negative sign and a pick plus in the same damn picture.
I was so angry I threw the box against the wall and punched the door with all my might. Why can't I have an easy life? Is that so hard. My hand was stinging me and when I looked down on it I saw quite a bit of blood dripping down. I sighed an put the test on the bathroom sink and walked into the kitchen to start cleaning up. As I walked through the living room, the front door swung open and made me jump back. It was Gee.
"Tammy!" He yelled and rushed over and pulled me into a hug. "Oh god, I swear if I see him I'm gonna kill him." He pulled away and grabbed my hands but I pulled my right hand back and gasped in pain.
"What happened?" He asked examining my hand.
"I punched the door." I stated.
He chuckled, "Oh course you did. Come on, let's clean this up." He said and led me to the kitchen and rinsed my hand until the blood was gone and wrapped a cloth around it. "All better." He said and kissed my forehead.
"Gee, there's something I need to tell you." I said.
"What?" He said hopping up on the counter.
"I think I'm pregnant." I blurted out.
"You what?!" He said wide eyed.
"Yeah... I took a test but it came out unclear, I don't know what to do Gee." I said the last part in a small cracked voice. I covered my eyes with my hands as a few tears stared to fall down.
"Tammy..." He said getting off the counter and pulling me into his arms, "Well get through this." He whispered into my hair, "Let's go to a clinic and found our for sure."
We left to the clinic, Gerard never once let go of my hand. We had to wait almost 20 minutes before they took us in for my examination, once they had taken there test and left to go find out our results, Gee and I were patiently waiting in the room. I was really nervous, my leg kept shaking.
"Everything will be fine." Gerard said rubbing my shaking leg.
"How do you know that? What if I am, and Rick comes back?"
"I swear on my life, I will get him back in jail. And if were having a baby, everything will be fine."
"Gee I'm a freshman in collage, and your a soft-more in Art collage. Our apartment is barley two bedroom and I don't know how to be a mother." I said.
"We can still go to collage part-time, and if our apartment dost work out, I'm sure your mom or my parents wont mind us staying with them and we could transfer to New Jersey collages." He said calmly.
"Your so calm. It's like your not scared."
"Oh I'm scared. But I'm happy to, we created a person, a life, one half of me," He came over to me and grabbed my hand, "And one half of you."
Tears were streaming down my face as I pulled him into a kiss.
"I love you." He told me.
"I love you to." I told him and kissed him again. Just as the medical lady walked in.
"Sorry for interrupting." She said with a smile. "And sorry for the wait, were a little backed up, any ways, to the point now. Congratulations Mrs. and Mr. Way, your going to have a baby." She gave us a few brochures and then headed for the door. "Good luck." Then she left.
I looked to Gee and saw he had a surprised face on him and a hint of a smile. But I couldn't help but throw my face in my hands and burst into tears. Gee came over to me and whispered something into my ear, I was to distracted to listen. A few minutes he wrapped an arm around me and led me to the car, I was still sobbing on the drive home.
When he made it to our complex I had my tears under control and was no longer sobbing, but tears were still falling. When he parked the car, he turned it off and pulled out the keys but made no attempt of leaving, neither did I. A few moments of silence passed before her turned to me.
"Tammy..." I remained silent.
"Sugar, the last thing I wanna do is be the reason to make you cry, but I don't want you to end the pregnancy, I want this baby. But I don't wanna force you to do anything, but I want my baby. God, I don't know what to do." He said running his hand through his hair.
"I don't wanna end my pregnancy either, I wanna keep it." I whispered. Gee looked at me wide eyed then had a big smile in his face.
"Really?"
"Yeah." I said with new tears coming down.
"Then why are you crying?"
"Because I'm scared."
He laughed, "So am I," He put his hand on my stomach where our unborn baby would be, "But we can do this." He said and pulled me into a kiss.
"What about Rick?"
"I'll go down to the police station tomorrow and tell them our situation."
"Okay." I said as we got out of the car and headed up to our place.
Once inside, Gee locked all the windows and closed all the blinds and locked the door. Then he flopped on the sofa with his phone pressed in his ear and turned on the T.V to start up one of his video games.
"Who you calling?" I asked as I pulled out my phone.
"Ordering pizza. You?"
"Frankie, then my mom."
"Kay." Then he turned his attention to the T.V and I waited for Frankie to pick up. He picked up on the 2nd ring.
"Tammy!" He yelled into the phone, "God you little slut, I miss not seeing you everyday. How are things?"
I laughed, "Everything is good, so I have some new's good and bad, which one you want first?"
"Ummm, good." He aid cheerfully.
"Okay, well um, I'm kinda... pregnant." I said biting my lip.
"Gee knocked you up!?!?!" He screamed.
"Yeah." I let out a nervous laugh.
"Congrats, can I be the godfather?"
"I'd have to ask Gee but I don't see why not."
"Okay, my turn, I have good and bad news too, since you told me the good, it's only fair I tell you the good to. I proposed to Ray"
"Holy shit!!! Your getting married!!!!" I yelled, and Gee looked up from the sofa and I shook him off.
"Yeah," He giggled, "But the bad news is we wanna live here, so I transferred to Jersey.... I'm no gonna be in New York." My heart broke when he said that. He's my besti and I love him and wanna be with him.
"Oh.." I said.
"Tammy, I'll visit all the time and you better visit me." He said.
"There's a chance we might be coming back anyways. But the bad news is Rick got out of jail."
He was silent.
"Frankie?" I asked.
"I'll kill him." He stated calmly.
"Good. Anyways dont think about it much, please, Gee and I will come down in a few day, okay?"
"Okay. I love you."
"I love you to." I said then hung up.
"He take it well?" Gerard said from the sofa.
"As well as he could." I said going over to him and cuddling with him as he played his game. "He proposed to Ray and there getting married. And there staying in Jersey." I told him.
"That's good for him. I'm glad, they make a great couple." He said. "What about us though?"
"What do you mean?"
"Are we staying in NY or we going back to NJ?" He asked like it was as easy as choosing topping on a pizza.
"I don't know. Did the doctor say how far along I am?" I asked.
"Nope." He said popping the p.
"Well I wanna be with my mom when we have the baby, you know, to help get us on our feet, but not right away."
"So like halfway through your pregnancy?"
"Yeah something like that. I just feel bad cause you love Art school here." I said playing with his shirt.
"I"d be happy anywhere as long as your with me." He said and pecked my head. Then the doorbell rang.
"I got it."He said and headed for the door and got our pizza.
So far everything is going fine, let's see how long things will last will my luck.
