Homecoming

As Gerard had predicted, I was released from hospital merely three days after I awoke. During that time, they ran a load of tests and asked God knows how many questions. It was tiring, and irritating, but I remained quiet through it all. I was referred to a psychologist, too - they had seen my cuts. Her name was Jo, and she was lovely. Grudgingly, I began to talk to her, and although I didn't tell her much, she seemed to be excellent at reading me. She was a master of analysing body language and tone, and making extraordinary guesses. She knew about my confidence issues without me even telling her, and if I twisted the truth she called me out instantly. The woman was a genius. It made me uncomfortable that she could interpret me so well, but I grew to trust her and let her in a little. I spent a lot of time with her when I was in hospital, and we arranged weekly visits for when I got out. She also gave me a book to write in when I was feeling low, like a journal to express my feelings, which I actually loved. It was an awesome way of releasing pent-up feelings, rather than take it out on my body. When I was finally let out of hospital - honestly, it felt like forever - the Ways took me back in Donald's car. Gerard helped me out of the back - I was still in a lot of pain from the stab wound - and we went down to his room. My floor-bed was still set up, and a box of familiar-looking clothes was sat on top of it. "Dad bought a few of your clothes from your house," Gee told me as he helped me sit on his bed. "They let him in after they raided the place." He sat beside me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I leaned into him and sighed. "It's weird how much I missed this place," I said softly. "It's not even my home." This made him laugh. "Sure it is. You know you're always welcome here." I smiled at the cute sentiment, and he leant down to kiss my lips. He barely had time to brush them with his own, however, before a thundering noise echoed from the door. He smiled as he pulled away. "Here they come," he muttered. Frank, Ray and Mikey came crashing into the room. "Kriss!" They chorused. Mikey, excitable as ever, bounced up and down before charging over and sweeping me into a hug. Gee warned him of my injuries, but I didn't mind. It wasn't painful, and I enjoyed it. It was a natural thing for Mikey to do, and I was comforted by it. When he released me from his tight grip, he plopped himself down beside me, grinning like a maniac. Frank then wandered over and gave me a gentler, one-armed hug, and Ray surprised me a little by doing the same. Ray was a great guy, but a hugger he was not. I was soon distracted by the flooding of questions about how I felt, if I was in pain, etc. Eventually, I sighed loudly and yelled "Guys, enough already! I am FINE!" They exchanged looks, then Frank laughed. "She's definitely back to normal, dudes, we can relax." I rolled my eyes, making them all laugh. Or giggle, in Mikey's case. "So, how shall we celebrate this excellent day?" Mikey asked, bubbling with excitement. "Celebrate?" I asked. Mikey nodded. "Well, yeah! Since you're home and all that, we should do something!" I laughed, he was so cute. Gerard spoke up. "I'm thinking we have an epic horror movie marathon. Popcorn, beer, blood and gore. Perfection." We all agreed enthusiastically, and decided to start straightaway. We all took places, Ray stretched out on my bed, Mikey and Frank took the sofa, and me and Gee curled up in his bed. Donna bought down popcorn, and Mikey produced bottles of beer, with a cheeky wink. The first film was slotted in, the lights switched off, bottles cracked open, and silence fell in the room. I felt so at home there, snuggled against Gee, watching zombies movies. It wasn't long before I felt myself drifting, my eyes fluttered shut, and sleep overtook me. It felt like just seconds later when gentle hand shook me, pulling me out of my slumber. I opened my eyes to Gerard's smile. I glanced around, and found we were alone. I sat up slowly, and he smiled. "You slept through 3 films," he informed me. "I'm sorry," I murmured through a massive yawn. "S'okay, I got your beer so I didn't mind." I rolled my eyes and slapped him playfully. He mimed falling back onto the bed in agony, clutching his chest. I giggled and pounced forward, so I was laying on him. I kissed the spot where my hand had made contact. "Drama Queen," I chastised. "The original," he quirked back. I smiled and laid my head down on his chest. I could hear his steady heartbeat. It was nice, comfortable. I found myself yawning again. He chuckled, and it echoed in his chest. "You can't still be tired," he said incredulousy. "Mmhmm, little bit," I murmured back drowsily, snuggling into him. He laughed again, then shifted us so we were lying properly in his bed. He placed me down beside him, and I shifted so I had my head against his shoulder and a hand on his chest. He pulled a blanket over us, wrapped his arms around me, and kissed my hair. "Night, sugar," his whisper was the last thing I heard as I slipped back into oblivion.

Notes

This is suuuuuuuuch a shitty chapter! But, it's been a while since I updated and I wanted to get something down. The point of this chapter was just to get Krissy home so we can kick in with the next big event of the story. Yes, more is gonna happen, a lot more. But I'm not telling ya what!! Xxx
