I'll never let them hurt you, I promise

You don't have to be ashamed.

"Gerard Way, that is NOT going to happen!" I yelled for about the millionth time that night. I crossed my arms, pouting. He rolled his eyes. "Krissy, I don't see why you're being so stubborn about this." I shot to my feet. "I'm being stubborn? I'M BEING STUBBORN!? Me? I'm being sensible! You're just being dumb!" He glared at my words. "I'm not being dumb!" He insisted. "I'm being nice!" I groaned in frustration. "Gerard, I will not take your bed. You are not sleeping on the sofa. End. Of. Story." "Well, where will you sleep, then, hmm?" He challenged. "I'll sleep on the sofa! It makes sense! The sofa is smaller than the bed, and I'm shorter than you. Plus, this is YOUR house, and I'M the one crashing here, therefore, I should take the sofa." He was shaking his head before I'd even finished. "Don't shake your head at me!" An idea came to mind, and I smirked. "Okay, fine, sleep on the sofa," I told him. He stared. "Really?" I nodded. "Yup. I'll just sleep on the floor." His chin dropped, and my smirk grew. "Kriiiiiiissy!" His childish complaint made me giggle. "I'm serious, Gerard. I'm not sleeping on the bed. If you take the sofa, I'll take the floor." He glared at me, and I stared back. We remained locked in a staring contest for a pretty long time. Looking away was conceding, giving in. But, after a while, his glare slipped. He carried on staring, but without the angry annoyance. I stared back, lost in his gorgeous hazel eyes, studying his face. His skin was clear and pale, making the bright shine of his eyes stand out all the more. His raven-dark hair was a tangled mess falling over his forehead, casting long shadows down his face. He had a really cute nose, small and pixie-like. And his lips... I swallowed as I looked at them. They were the perfect size, not too big or too small, and pink and very soft-looking. I was suddenly wondering how they'd feel against my own. Would they feel as soft as they looked? I shifted my eyes back up to his, he was still staring at me. He opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by footsteps coming down the stairs (Gerard's room was the basement, I found out at dinner, which I found immensely cool) so we both turned to look at them, clearing our throats awkwardly. Mikey appeared in the doorway. "Guys, what are you doing? I could hear yelling." I opened my mouth, but Gerard smoothly cut me off. "Krissy's being stubborn. She won't sleep on my bed, she's insisting I take it." I rolled my eyes. "Gerard's being dumb. He's trying to give up his bed for me." Mikey looked between us. "Share the bed," he said simply. We stared, giving him plain 'WTF' expressions. He giggled. "I'm serious! Gerard, you're pissed 'cause she won't take the bed, and Krissy, you're pissed because Gerard won't sleep in the bed. So, both of you sleep in the bed. Everyone'e happy. Fuck yeah!" He punched the air. Me and Gerard exchanged looks, making Mikey giggle again. "I'm just sayin', it makes sense." And with that, he bounded out of the room, leaving me and Gerard speechless. "Uhmm... now what?" I asked. "I... I don't know," he muttered. "That kid's really something." I smiled "He seriously is. I just met him, and I know that much. He's a sweetie, though." That made Gerard laugh. "A sweetie, right. We'll see if you're saying that once you've been around him a couple days. 'Sweetie' will be the last word on your mind." I giggled at this. "Such a nice brother, aren't you?" Gerard laughed. "Best brother there ever was!" He laughed again, then said, "You know, Mikes was right about one thing." I gave him a questioning look. "Sharing the bed is pretty logical." This surprised me, a little, but I had to agree. Partly because, well, it WAS logical, but partly because the idea of being so close to Gerard intrigued me. Stupid, I know, I only just met him, and there was no way in hell he would ever be even remotely interested. But still, the offer was too good to pass up. So I simply nodded, avoiding eye contact. Something occured to me. "Gerard, where's my bag? I had pyjamas and stuff in there. I was carrying it before I passed out... I think..." I frowned, confused, trying to put my memories together. My head was fuzzy - it was difficult. He smiled. "It's here, I grabbed it for you." He picked up my bag and handed it over. I took it, and he pointed me toward a door. "Bathroom," he said. I thanked him and went to change. As I dressed, I realized that the only pyjama top I'd packed was short-sleeved. Shit. I hastily pulled a hooded jacket on before emerging from the bathroom. Gerard was already lying on his bed, he smiled when he saw me. He patted a spot beside him, and I hesitantly lay down. He propped himself up on one elbow, looked down at me, then frowned. He touched the edge of my jacket. "My shirt has no sleeves," I explained quietly. Understanding lit his eyes, then he thought for a moment before getting up. I watched, confused, as he went to his wardrobe and pulled out a tee-shirt. Then, to my shock, he slipped off his long-sleeved shirt and pulled on the tee, leaving his arms bare. Displaying all of his scars. He looked at me, very seriously. "You don't need to be ashamed. Not around me." I nodded, understanding, and then I sat up and slipped the jacket off. I had removed all the bandaging from earlier, so the red, raw cuts practically glowed against my pale skin. As well as those were all the past scars, accumulated over the past five years. Some had faded, some had remained. The result was a rough mess of scars up my forearms. I blushed, and wouldn't meet Gerard's eyes. He sighed, walked over, and lay down, then wrapped an arm loosely round my waist and pulled til I was lying down, too. Then he took my hand, raised my arm and, as before, ran his lips over the scars in a gentle kiss. "Goodnight, Krissy," he whispered, before clicking off the light. I quickly fell into the most amazing sleep I'd had in ages.

Notes

A bit of a filler, but I think it was needed. Tell me what your thoughts are, if you have any. Am I stretching things out too much, making it take too long? Xx
