Remedy For The Routine
Chapter2
After having to swipe his badge at what had to be a million doors Gerard finally entered the lab. Bert was standing on the opposite side of the room diligently working. “I think I see smoke coming out of your ears,” Gerard said as he began to cross the room to Bert.
“I feel like it, I have maybe a day worth of work left and then it should be ready to go. No more blood suckers, well, other than our bosses.” Bert patted Gerard’s back as he reached him and they both looked down at the assortment of lab instruments on the counter in front of them.
“Well at least I have something to tell them. I was afraid you would just speak scientific drabble at me,” Gerard said laughing slightly as he glanced over to see what Bert’s face was like.
“I wouldn’t have done that and you know it.” The men looked at each other for a moment before Bert broke the awkward moment by walking over and scanning his badge to sign out for the day. “It’s getting late though. You want to come over for dinner? I was thinking about making some Chinese.” Gerard didn’t answer, he simply stared at Bert. “Or I can make whatever you want.” More silence. “Are you even listening to me or just staring as my lips move.”
“Maybe.”
“Maybe what?”
“Maybe Chinese. I didn’t think you could cook.”
“The magic of frozen dinners. All I need is a skillet and the attention span required to not burn the rice to the bottom of the pan.” They both laughed and smiled at each other as Gerard sauntered over to Bert.
“I don’t know if you have the attention span.”
“Oh, I have an attention span when it comes to important things. Obviously I am working on your cure.”
“It’s not mine. It’s for everyone.”
“But you are the reason I agreed to fix it,” Bert said smiling at Gerard as he pulled him closer. “I couldn’t imagine you turning into a blood sucker again.”
Gerard leaned into Bert and whispered in his ear, “Honey, you couldn’t handle me if I were a blood sucker.”
“I couldn’t?” Gerard merely smirked back in response as Bert leaned back onto the counter and pulled him closer. “Are you sure about that?” At this point Bert was smirking and Gerard was biting his lip as he ended up half on him.
“We can’t do this… at least not in the lab,” Gerard whispered in Bert’s ear before breathing ardently on his neck. Bert austerely grabbed Gerard’s hair and pulled his head to the side biting his neck ferociously trying to leave the darkest hickey anyone had ever seen. Though for Gerard the past was ignited in his veins! He could feel it coursing directly to his heart as it started to beat faster. Soon Bert was on the floor with Gerard straddling him smiling like a Cheshire cat. “Don’t worry. The cure hasn’t worn off, but it may as well have.” In an instant Gerard was biting, licking, and sucking all over Bert as he held Bert’s wrists tightly above his head.
