I Didnt Want To Trick You
***********Party’s P.O.V**********
“Why are we going to Dr.D?” Ghoul asked me.
“To find out where she is going, so we can go get her.” I answered.
“And why would he know?” He asked.
“Will you stop with all the questions?” I said kinda harshly, “She said in her note that she need to do it on her own, and something about her top priories, if anyone is to know what’s on her list, it will be the one who raised her.” I explained.
He nodded and followed me to Dr.D’s main offices in Safe Haven, hopefully he was there. When we walked in, I thanked god he was there; when he saw us he looked us from hid work and smiled at us.
“What can I help you with boys?” He smiled at us.
“Grandpa!” Kid said and ran over to Dr.D with his arms opening for a hug. Dr.D smiled and opened his arms and caught the boy running over to him, he pulled him into his lap and kissed the top of his head.
“Was Tabitha here?” I asked.
“No, I thought she was in her room resting.” I cursed to myself.
“What’s her top priority?” I asked.
“What?” Dr.D asked in confusion.
“Her list of priorities, what are they?”
“Ever since she could talk, it was about becoming a killjoy.” He answered.
“Is that it?” I asked out of desperation.
“No, there was one more but, I don’t think she cares about it anymore.”
“What is it?” Ghoul asked.
“Finding out why Korse wanted her, but she already knows he is her biological father.”
Fuck. She’s going after Korse. In Battery City. By herself. Fuck.
“What’s going on Party?” Dr.D asked reading my facial expression.
“She’s going after Korse by herself.” I said quietly.
”Don’t worry; she can take care of herself. I know her, she will realize this is too much for just herself and she’ll call you guys for backup.” He said. “But what I don’t understand, why did she want to go on her own and not with her husband and friends? What’s really going on?” He asked.
“She’s having my baby.” I stated and then turned my back on him and walked out of his office.
Like hell I’m letting her go off on a suicide mission with my baby by herself. I started to walk down to the weapons vault, I could hear Ghoul behind me, but I didn’t care. Within seconds, walking wasn’t enough. I began to pick up my pace to speed walking, but that didn’t help me. Soon enough I was at a full sped run, Ghoul was struggling to keep up with me.
I made my way inside and picked up a crap load of ray guns, knife’s, and ropes. I don’t care what it takes, I will get her back. I walked out to see Ghoul waiting outside with his phone pressed to his ear. I continued walking without waiting for him, but this time I was heading outside, getting ready to find Blue in Battery City.
As we made our way outside, we saw Kobra in the driver’s seat of the car and Jet in the back, waiting for us. That must have been who Ghoul was on the phone with. I walked to the driver’s seat where Kobra was sitting and pointed for him to move. He looked over to Ghoul who gave him a small nod and moved over to the passenger’s seat.
What the fuck was that about? I’m the leader. What I say goes.
I didn’t ever put on a seat belt, I just slammed on the gas pedal, hoping to cut the 10 hour drive to Battery City in half, and maybe catching Blue before she made it into the city. We weren’t going fast enough, so I pushed the gas harder, increasing our speed my 20 miles per hour.
“Party stop!” Kobra yelled. I slowed down a bit, but I didn’t stop, I got a sideways glance at him. He looked pretty scared, he was gripping the door and his knuckles were white. I looked at my speed, even with me slowing down, I was going over 100 miles per hour. I sighed and pulled the car into a slow stop.
I claimed out and stared at the desert sand, I ran my hands through my red hair and gripped it tight and started to pull on it. Someone put a hand on my shoulder and I stopped tugging on my hair and turned to face them, it was Kobra.
“Gerard.” He said in a low voice, “What’s going on?” He asked.
“Dad was a good man, I can’t remember much about him, but he was a good dad to you and I, so was mom.” I said, he nodded for me to continue, “Ever since we lost them, I wanted a son or daughter, so I could be that good of a parent. And I now have that chance, but it could be taken away from me.”
“How?” He asked.
“She’s pregnant, but she went after Korse, for god knows what reason and there’s a chance she could lose our baby.” I told him. He pulled me into a hug, and I hugged him back, these brotherly moments were getting rare.
“Then let’s go get her back.” He said and pulled me back into the car. I drove this time at a slower pace, but not by much.
It took us a few hours to get to the City’s gates, but when we did it was dark, and here were no guards out. There are always guards out. I slowed down our pace and the rest of the killjoys pulled out there guns.
As we entered the tunnel, leading into the City, we saw the inner guard post and gate torn to pieces and a few bodies on the ground. But there was also a girl, with fire truck red hair with her back turned to us. I stopped the car and ran to the girl and turned her around with a grin on my face thinking I found Blue. When I turned her around it wasn’t Blue, my face fell.
I noticed her hair wasn’t red, she had paint or something covering her hair, she really had brown hair. I pulled out my gun and pointed it at her, I heard the gun climb out of the car and come over to us.
“I’m sorry.” She said.
“Who are you and why are you sorry?” Ghoul asked also raising his gun.
“She told me to do this, I didn’t want to trick you but she told me to.” She said.
“Who is she?” I asked.
“Tabitha, she said she is your wife.” She answered.
“Why would you help her?” Jet asked.
“I wanted to get out of the City, and she said if I help her she’d help me, and when this is over she’d take me to my brother.”
“Who are you?” I asked again.
“My name is Hanna.”
