I've had it with trying. And as much as I really wanted to, I couldn't stay.
“You'll be safe from harm, and they will never find you.” My Mom gave me a hug before I caught the train. I thought I was the only one on, but I was mistaken.
“Was that your Mom?” A voice called from the shadow. I leaped back from fear and fell on someone, but they kept tossing me in the shadows until I finally called to stop.
“Yes. Please don't hurt her. We did nothing wrong, and we mean no harm. Don't kill me.” I was terribly frightened. The train is at full speed, my body is fragile, an if they push me off, I'd surely be dead.
“Whoa, are you okay? We didn't mean to scare you,kid. You're safe.” I opened my eyes and when I adjusted to the darkness, I saw 3 people in odd positions filling the shadows along with a man with wild curly hair in the corner. He crawled on all his fours an sat in front of me to comfort me.
“You look pretty shook up. What happened?” he asked. The three others slithered into the shadows.
“Can I live in here with you for a while?” I hugged him tightly so he would protect me.
“Of course.” he hugged me back, even thought knew nothing about him, I could sense he was a good man.
