And The Collision Of Your Kiss
Prologue
12 years earlier
"Higher Gee! Higher!" I squealed as Gerard pushed me on the swing. I was going to be just like him and jump off the swing.
"I'm pushing Katie! I'll tell you when to jump. One, two, three!" Gerard said when I was at the highest point on the swing set.
"Wee-ah!!" I jumped but my skirt got stuck on the swing. I came falling down and landed really hard. I started to cry.
"Katie! You'll be okay. Shh. Come with me. I'll take care of you." Gerard picked me up and tugged me into his house. He brought me into the bathroom and set me on the toilet. He got out the stingy spray stuff, the feel better gel, and boo boo stickers. He was about to spray, but I put up a fuss.
"No! It will sting Gee!" I hated the stingy stuff.
"I'll make you feel better Katie. I promise." He crossed his heart as he promised.
"Okay.." He sprayed the stuff on my boo boos, put the gel on them, and covered them with stickers.
"Come here, I have to wash your lip." Gerard got a wash cloth out and got it wet. I put my little fingers to my lips and saw blood when I looked at my hand. "Don't touch it. Now come here Katie." He washed my lip and put the wash cloth in the tub. "You can't tell my mommy and daddy or your mommy and daddy what happened. This is our little secret."
"Okay, but you still didn't make me feel better. My boo boos hurt."
"What do you want me to do?" Gerard asked.
"You have to do what mommy does. She kisses my boo boos and they always feel better." Maybe mommy should have taken care of me.
"Okay." Gerard kissed all of my boo boos and they felt better, but my lip still hurt a bit.
"Kiss my lip again, it still hurts Gee." I made a pouty face. He kissed it again and it was almost better. "One more, this is a tough boo boo." Gerard kissed me one more time. It sill hurt a bit, so I kissed back. Mommy always said I had magic kisses. Maybe I could help. When I kissed back, it felt like I had a bunch of butterflies in my tummy. It felt strange, but nice.
"Why'd you kiss me back Katie?" Gerard looked a bit confused.
"I thought I could help make my lip feel better if I used my magic kisses. And it worked Gee. I could feel it." I smiled at him and he smiled back.
"I think I felt it too. My tummy felt like I had eaten a bunch of worms." Gerard rubbed his tummy.
"He he he. You're silly Gee." Gerard helped me down from the toilet and we went back outside.
"Remember Katie, it's our secret and no one can know." Gerard held his pinky out and I took it. Before I let go, I asked a question.
"Even the kisses?" I didn't want t say something I shouldn't and have Gerard be mad at me for a bazillion years.
"Yup, even the kisses." With that, we pinky swore to keep that day a secret.
