I think by that time he was used to Frank and Boners in the same sentence. But That's not why he freaked out. Well, it is but it's more to it. If you read the beginning of the story, In the dream he had, the voice he was dreaming about called him Gee. So he was kinda like: oh shit wtfwtfwtf. (sorry for rambling, lol

And that's what he freaks out about; not that he got a boner in the middle of class, but the fact that his crush gave him a nickname.
That's a new level of sad.
But also cute at the same time.
