Those Dumb Fan Fiction Moments - Comments
@momiji_neyuki
Definitely. Tagging is very useful, especially with those kinds of topics, as some people might be sensitive to them. However, a lot of people don't tag their stories, saying that there's these touchy subjects within it. When people go to read them, they get a shock that might not always be pleasant.
Kudos to you for actually tagging things. (:
I have to strongly agree with this last chapter. If I have any thing even remotely close to a scene where a character is not agreeable to what is happening, I will at least mark it Dubious consent in the tags, but is the five major, I will alWays tag Rape/Non Con. It's just the right thing to do.
I also DO NOT romanticize that kind of behavior at all. If the victim ends up with feelings toward their rapist, that is not love, it's Stockholm syndrome, which is a very real thing and should be tagged as such.
I realize a lot of my readers are under 18 so I am careful to mark my tags properly as well as make notes and comments to explain the chapters. I don;t understand why this subject gets passed over a lot in tagging, but self harm or bullying has bright red flags all over it. This deserves the brightest honestly. :(
I disagree with the siblings. Gee and Mikey are very affectionate to each other because Gerard said growing up he had to pretend Mikey, and they kiss on the cheek all the fucking time? There's gifs of it. And they don't romanticly cuddle but they do cuddle. They are very close.
And it's just fan Fiction a reminder. Pretty sure waycest is not real so don't take it to heart
@petewentztheemogod
That's good. I'm glad they can play a nice role in a number of fanfics since after all, it is MCR fanfiction.
@xXEnderChildXx
I can't agree with that any more. I do know some kids that go to my school that happen to have a tattoo here and there, but those are only allowed via parent's/guardian's permission. I doubt any parent/guardian would be willing to sign off on a tattoo sleeve for a teenager.
@FrerardFaggot
Thank you.
Aw man I gotta disagree with the sibling relationship one. Mikey and Gerard are ridiculously affectionate in real life. I don't think making them kiss cheeks is something that wouldn't happen in real life.
(Sorry to seem like I'm shitting on this - believe it or not, I love it a lot)
Something that always gets me is when Frank has tattoos while he's in highschool, like he's sixteen and has a full sleeve. It doesn't make any sense and can make me kinda angry, the lip ring and gauges make sense but tattoos, no way.
For the Frerard chapter, most of the time it seems like that, but like 50% of the time Ray and Mikey play a fair part in the plot.
Don't want to promote my fanfic, but in one Mikey's a serial killer and plays a crucial part on the plot and affects the ending of the story and Hell, even affects Gerard and Frank's relationship, so, there's that. (It's strangely fun to write him as a gruesome killer oh god)
These just keep getting better and better. I always end up in a better mood after reading these hilarious rants
@FrerardFaggot
That's really true. Thank you for sharing that. It helps me somewhat understand what people are getting at. I assumed that's why they never added bathroom parts in stories. And yes, the trope part just adds detail and action. I had to pick on it though, lmao.
@tatertotts
YAY. I mean, not yay that you almost peed your pants, but yay that you got a good laugh.
@unicornpower24
Thank you so much, I'm really glad you're enjoying it.
@MCR-RP
Aw, thank you. And I know right. Not enough people have realized it, or they have and they've just tolerated it.
@ChibiFrerard
LMAO, YAY. I'm glad I made you a die of laughter. Don't actually die though, because then I'm responsible and I might get sued. ;D
I am so glad that this exists. This is literally the first post I've seen where these moments are being called out.
Local dumb writer who is doing a Writing Degree appears!
I totally agree with a lot of these, but a few things are actually easily explainable!
Firstly, the thing about characters never using the bathroom. That's considered "information waste". People //assume// it, so you don't need to mention it. You /can/, but there's little point and you risk ruining the mood.
SECONDLY,
a lot of the stuff mentioned here are tropes - and they're very important for writing! I challenge you to find me one love story that isn't, at its core, Romeo and Juliet. Whilst I agree entirely that it gets boring when the same thing is done over and over in the same way, we've gotta respect the need for tropes. Not to mention that they're a good place to start in writing.
Other than that, though, these are hilarious and totally accurate.
