I think that's due to Gerard's fear of saying those words, not because he doesn't feel the same about her...or maybe he's just an ass.

I notice Gerard said he cared for her, not that he loved her. And after having her say "I love you" to him. Does he not feel that way towards her? Seems a bit suspicious to me.

I thought people would be curious about their back story, plus I kinda like their back story myself. I tried to make it as realistic as possible, or at least true to human emotions.

I really enjoyed Frank's monologue. It really helped to see the whole back story and why they are the way they are. I don't know he I'm telling you this, though. You wrote it hahaha :D anyway, great chapter!
